Very nice hotel. Staff was very friendly and helpful. The check in line was long but move quickly. The parking was below ground level with limited height. If you don't like roll a coasters use the valet parking service. Clean rooms with small tight bathrooms. Elevators were slow but functional.would return again when in Toronto

Every time I visit TO, I stay at the Chelsea Hotel. I love that the hotel is within walking distance to the Eaton's Centre, and so many restaurants and shops. Check in is quick and the room is usually ready upon my arrival. I find the rooms to be very comfortable and relaxing, and I enjoy indulging in room service...

The location is excellent - downtown, close to many hospitals, which is why we have stayed there for the last 11 years, with a very good hospital rate. it is also close to good shopping, entertainment and many excellent eating establishments. It is an older hotel but reasonably well maintained and we have found most of the staff to be...

I have been a patron of the Chelsea for over 30 years, however the last time I stayed there was when it was still under the "Delta" brand. This "used" to be one of my favourite hotels in the GTA until my recent visit. The Lobby has been renovated and although very nice the check in wait times are way...

Decent hotel, with an overall clean room, nice clean bathroom and a view of the city. Wifi is really bad, but if you have a laptop, you can use Ethernet. There's no cooler in the room and no temperature control, but the room is not smelly and employees are polite. It is right in downtown, so you tend to overlook...

The Delta Chelsea Hotel had friendly check-in even though the lobby was very busy- large convention underway. Our hotel room was very clean and spacious, but we should have asked for a room closer to the elevator: long walk. All in all a great experience.

The lobby and immediate area outside seems to be a hangout for drug dealers and prostitutes. Very sketchy. We felt so uncomfortable when returning to hotel later at night, that we packed and drove home rather than stay. The hotel itself is tired in appearance and needs some rejuvenation, must less a cleanup of the loiterers.

We stayed in the 2 bedroom suite with our daughter. Very excellent layout for family! Great staff! Excellent location! The room service provided excellent late dinner for all of us. We will definitely stay here on our next visit to downtown Toronto.

The room temperature was 32 Celsius upon arrival. I turned off the heater and it remained turned off during my entire stay. I also had to sleep with the patio door opened at night. Long, black hairs in the bathtub. Bath tub clogged and draining properly. Stains on the walls...They call it Deluxe room!

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
