Chose this hotel for its close location to Union station and the downtown area and wasn't disappointed. Just 3 - 4 mins walk from Union, with plenty of folk around when arriving about 8pm so felt a safe area on arrival and on following evenings. First impressions were good with a bright and comfortable lobby area and a friendly welcome...

This Hotel was a wonderful place to stay in Toronto. My wife and I were in town for the Raptors game and the hotel was in walking distance. The check in process was fairly quick and painless. I Prepaid so I didn't have any issues with the transactions since I was using American Currency. The room was small but very...

Directly downtown. Everything is walking distance, price is good, staff and service are perfect. Tiny room but good enough for us as we spent our time outside. No fan in the bathroom and toilet wasn't flushing really good but nothing to make a big deal of. Will definitely go back for a future visit of that beautiful city!

I stay in Toronto one or more nights per month. Its always the Strathcona for me. Friendly staff mixed with a great pub downstairs where the food is tasty and they know how to pour a Guinness. The rooms can be small but are clean and cozy. Good showers. Its a 2 minute stroll from Union Station. Start with beers...

We stayed here for one night during a Toronto layover. Overall a good hotel. Reception was quick with our check-ins. There are a couple of elevators to get to the various floors. Room was clean and neat. There was an workstation table. We had WiFi in the room which was helpful. Also a small refrigerator in the room. The bathroom...

We are from outside of Toronto and just wanted a convenient, inexpensive place to stay. The location is great as it was close to lots of entertainment and restaurants. The hotel room is small but very clean. The beds are comfortable which is great. There was no soap in the shower and no cream or sugar for the coffee provided...

The best part of this hotel is the location. It is a close walk to Union Station and there are many major attractions within walking distance (CN Tower, Eaton Centre, Roger's Centre, Air Canada Centre). The rooms are small. We had an executive King room and there was enough room for the bed and a small desk in the corner....

This hotel has a great location in downtown Toronto and is reasonably priced. The room was clean and modern. The rooms are on the small side but the ability to walk to many nearby locations makes up to a this.

Traveling from out of the country WIFI was a need. It had the worst WIFI connection I have ever seen. We had also booked a double room but due to overbooking the double room was not available and only a single bed room was available. A friend that was traveling with us then had to pay for another room the...

Hi Erin L Thank you for taking the time to share your experiences. I am extremely disappointed to hear your stay was not to your complete satisfaction. Staying in Downtown West

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown West
Downtown West is home to Toronto's gorgeous Inner Harbor, and is a must-visit for lovers of art and the outdoors. The area's rich cultural heritage is celebrated by a number of monuments and museums, giving the neighborhood a mature feel. As a premier destination for modern art, people here stroll through the cool contemporary pieces at the Power Plant, enjoy the outdoor installations along Queen's Quay and Canoe Landing, and picnic among the zany designs of the Toronto Music Garden. The waterfront itself is often suffused with bikers and joggers, and the harbor is always packed with classic ships with masts raised. The vintage boats and ferries to the Toronto Islands make for a charming contrast against Downtown West's backdrop of skyscrapers, condos, and food trucks serving up hot, fresh fare to locals on the go. The area has a peaceful energy, and is popular with tourists and Torontonians alike.
