Four years running I've stayed at DHI for ~9 nights. Kerem & Brian (managers I've met) have been just fantastic. The house is clean and well organised. It's a comfortable place for me to relax over a full breakfast (I buy sausages from the nearby butcher or supermarket to go with the generous selection in the B&B) before a the... More

The place is 5min. walk to a subway station and 4 stations away from the very heart of downtown. The room was clean and quiet. There was a free wifi and breakfast. Kerem, the host, is a very nice and friendly person. He did his best to make me feel at home and provided guidance for places I was interested... More

My daughter and I needed to find a place for her to stay for 8 consecutive Sunday's and Monday's in January and February. We contacted this great place and we were in communication with Kerem. He was extremely accommodating and was always able to provide one of the beautiful rooms for her for this unusual request. The place was always... More

I stayed one night at DHI. The location is very good, close to shopping and major transit lines. Lots of things to do within walking distance. Checking in was easy thanks to the pre-arrival email. The row house is very nice and welcoming. Same can be said for the room I stayed in, Iris. Love the bed, very comfortable. The... More

We stayed two nights. Everything is nicely organized and decorated in a vintage style. The bed was very comfy, great linens and pillows. I would give it a 9/10 in cleanliness. The microwave needed to be cleaned and the bathroom linens and kitchen cloths and towels were not changed while we were there. Our bedroom floor could have used a... More

I had stood at the Downtown Home & Inn after my flight had been cancelled due to snow. Ultimately, the beautiful house, comfortable room, terrific host, Kerem, and central location made me wish that I stood here throughout the duration of my Toronto trip. If you are seeking a friendly, quiet, and safe place to stay when visiting Canada's largest... More

Good and enjoyable stay. Kerem is a friendly and easygoing man, and will help you if you need anything, like maps or tips about the city. The hotel is clean, breakfast choice is good, and in general it is a good value for money. If coming back to Toronto, I would stay there again.

Great B&B. Clean, calm, quiet, and in a great location. Close to everything. The hosts are very nice and helpful. Great value for the $$$ right in the middle of Toronto. We have stayed in a few other places but this is definitely our favorite. We will be staying there again and again.

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
