One word.... Fantastic!! Well cleaned rooms. Good breakfast if you can get up that early after a night out in Toronto. And the one thing that makes it special is the people who run it! They go out of their way to make your stay pleasant and are always there to answer anything about Toronto or point you in the...

Yes the buildings are old, but the rooms that I have stayed in are clean. It is located on a nice quiet tree lined street only a 10 minutes walk from the heart of downtown Toronto. I had to arrive early (like 6am) one day. The owner had no problem letting me in as soon as they opened and even...

The only thing good about this B&B was the price. It must be the most run down, tired, old & ugliest B&B I've ever stayed in! The staff was not friendly - who the other reviewers had contact with, I really don't know! Bathrooms are all shared, breakfast nothing to write home about, our room was damp and cold, the...

I have been staying at the Homewood Inn pretty well every year since 1995. Needless to say that I am always enjoying my stays there. The people that I bring with me from Austria are extremely happy with the hospitality and friendliness of the owners, the cosy atmosphere and extensive breakfast and of course the perfect location for tourists. I'll...

Homewood Inn's location is good if you want to be near the gay village, but that's about it. The place is tired and the owner's daughter rude and unfriendly - why she's involved in the Inn is a mystery - she obviosly hates it there. If your standards are pretty boring & low re a place to stay, this bed...

I attended the XVI. International Aids Conference in Toronto which took place in Toronto / Canada in my role as a reporter for Irish radio station NEAR FM. Concern Worldwide who paid for the trip and who in turn get all the footage for their website booked me into the Homewood Inn which lies in a quiet road. The minute...

I arrived at the Homewood Inn in Toronto for a month-long stay, not really knowing what to expect. I was pleasantly surprised. The staff were very welcoming and friendly, and always available for a chat and suggestions of what to do during my stay in Toronto (good knowledge of their city!). The rooms were clean, spacious and well furnished with...

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
