We had a delightful time at Pimblett's. It was definitely in the tradition of the old world pubs of the UK. If you are looking for modern and elegant, this isn't it. This is cozy, stuffed with kitsch and with a great, hearty Full English breakfast on order. The owner is a retired chef, and it shows in his kitchen....

I was excited to stay at an interesting looking, cheaper, B & B instead of a chain hotel when I stayed in Toronto for a week recently. While the wild decor and ambiance was everything I hoped for, I was disappointed overall. There was no apparent "common room", I had to be up early every morning for training and never...

A quaint period house close to all public transport. Our room was small and decorated with the owner's collectables but was comfortable. Quiet location even tho in Downtown area. Breakfast was plentiful and shared with other guests which made for interesting conversation. Owner is very friendly and chatty.

If you've got allergies, asthma or can't stand cats and dogs, do not go there ! Thousands of objects are standing around the place, it's very dusty and in the room is no more space for your luggage...

Unfortunately this place does deserve a low rating-a very low rating-for a number of reasons. The place initially seems to be very interesting-full of antiques and curios-but then you realize that the place is basically a total 'petri dish' of bacteria. I developed a serious cough when I stayed there for several nights which I think was the direct result...

The place is a HOUSE not a Hotel. Big diffrence and the owner of the place is the most unfriendly person in toronto. The place is too small and the stairs are narrow so dont have high hopes on getting your luggage up easily . The neighbourhood is not safe at all, located on the worst part of gerrard street,...

It's a cute place to stay and in "our library room" we felt like in a museum :-) Geoffrey was really a nice host and he was so kind to help us with our missed and lost luggage. The typical English breakfast was also great. Ham and eggs are as well offered as fruits. We really enjoyed our stay at...

My husband and I really enjoyed our stay here. They went out of their way to make us comfortable and it was a very clean and nice hotel. It was within walking distance of everything we wanted to see. Would definitely recommend this B&B! Pricing was good as well.

It's a HOUSE, not a HOTEL, and it's critical that you distinguish between these two. It's a kind of place that you'll miss when you check out. Pleasant ambiance, lots of antique artifacts and despite of the old look and feel everything was clean. Geoffrey and John were excellent hosts. The only downside is that the location is not in...

Once in a while, travelers weary of the same cookie cutter hotel, where you lose track of where you are. But, once in a while, you stumble onto a lodging so unique and different that you have to call attention to it. Pimblett's Downtown B&B is such a place. Of course, it is not really "downtown,: but in Cabbagetown, a...

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.

“We stayed in the third floor room with the jacuzzi and it was a beautiful and amazing room. We loved the private balcony. The second night we stayed in the butler room because 2 of the stairs at the top of the third floor were difficult for my fiance. The Butler room was great too and we were impressed with how accomodating Geoffrey was.”
