Our family of 4 (two adults, a 6 year old and a 9 year old) stayed at the Shangri-La Toronto June 17-19, 2022. Of the 5 star hotels in Toronto the Shangri-La is our favorite and we are repeat patrons. The foyer is impressive and has wonderful ambiance. The live music is unique to the downtown hotels. The food is delicious, whether it's something as simple as the fries or oysters or something more creative like their wontons and salads. The cocktails are artfully created and the bar tenders have the breadth of ability to create off menu. The staff are all friendly. From the valet team, to the front desk team, to the wait staff, and the gym staff. I want to give a particular call out of appreciation to the concierge team, specifically Dean Voon, who has consistently impressed with the ability to deliver on last minute reservations at desired restaurants and exclusive venues. The gym is top notch. Whether it's free weights, strength training machines, cardio machines or a studio space for yoga or spinning, you'll find it in this gym. And the floor to ceiling natural light makes you want to be in this space. The pool and hot tub are a favorite of our kids. There's also a dry sauna and a steam room and the change room is well appointed for a public change room. The rooms themselves are luxurious and comforting. The quietness between rooms is well above average. You can still hear the city noise however through the floor to ceiling windows. The location is also a feature worth noting. Walking distance to the Rogers Centre, CN Tower, Ripley's Aquarium and Eaton Centre. We have been to the Shangri-La twice three times this year and will be back in a few weeks. While each of the Ritz, Four Seasons, Adelaide and Hazelton have features that are worthy of appreciation, for us the Shangri-La really has the full package, especially the staff which is a critical part of the experience.

Hotel's Favourite
I have been staying at the Shangri La Toronto almost once a month during the pandemic. It is my trip away from home known as a staycation. I got to say, although I have stayed at all the 5 star hotels in Toronto, the staff at the SL really make you feel special. Albeit, I’m now considered a regular, their service never waivers, but they always try to maintain consistency with exceptional service. From the valet with Marlon who is always helpful with charging our hybrid car or forgetting something in it, to the front desk staff from Viktoria, Dean and Willow in making checkin seamless, to the room service staff which are always so friendly and accommodating. Now, I understand during the pandemic staffing at hotels have been challenging so getting assistance might not be as readily, but they do make the best efforts to make your experience memorable. Lastly, the CNY/Lunar high tea was amazing. The dim sum portion was top notch. Kudos to the chef and staff. I’m still craving them and it’s been 5 days! If you are looking for a stay in the city, come to the Shangri La. You won’t regret it!

Stayed at the Shangri-La Toronto for a very special anniversary. The General Manager Mr. Kari Koskela was absolutely amazing and very caring. He not only arranged a beautiful Specialty Suite for our special occasion, but also took the time to meet us in person upon our arrival. We had the pleasure of experiencing one of the most beautiful luxury Suites featuring gorgeous artwork, a spacious spa-styled marble bathroom, and a breathtaking view of the cityscape. Mr. Koskela was extremely thoughtful as there was a beautiful surprise waiting for us in our Suite. We enjoyed a limited edition Cirque du Soleil Afternoon Tea, with exquisitely and whimsically designed treats that were bursting with flavour with every bite. We also appreciate that the hotel organized VIP seating to a Cirque du Soleil show in the evening. The facilities at the hotel were so luxurious. We had the pleasure of enjoying some relaxing time at the Spa and Pool. From all the experiences during my travels around the world, I’ve never encountered such gracious, kind and sincere hotel staff. The staff were so genuine and accommodating and all went above and beyond to ensure that our stay was nothing short of perfect. We are so excited to be back soon. Wish I could give the Shangri-La Toronto a 10 stars rating if I could!

Excellent facilities with exceptional detail taken to ensure customer comfort, super large room furnished with high quality furniture and one of the most comfortable beds I have ever slept in, the pillows were amazing!! The oversized bathroom was luxurious I just wish we had more time to enjoy the huge bathtub! Complementary toiletries high quality and included a toothbrush which is often much appreciated when forgotten!! One of the best hotels I have stayed in and will definitely be on my list to stay when we next visit Toronto

We wanted to catch some live music and drinks at the lounge. It’s a nice room and we were looking forward to it. They were full and looked like they have 2 people serving, but hostesses and managers seemed to be abundant. We had to wait over 30 min for our drinks. The extra cold martinis that we requested were delivered luke warm and an order was incorrect. Why I gave 1 star is the indifference from the server. The wrong drink was not replaced for another 30 mins which meant one of our guest had no drink. Inept service. We ordered a second round as the band was still playing, against our better judgement, which arrived as they were closing down the lounge at around midnight and they turned up the lights. Disappointing as we usually have a good experience with Shangri-La.

We celebrated a small bridal shower at the Sunday high tea. It was such a great experience for the bride and all of the guests. Dean and Ali went out of their way to make it extra special, a big thank you to them both! The food was delicious and very filling coupled with a large selection of teas. Ali really knew his stuff as we asked him tons of questions about the tea! I would highly recommend this experience and I will definitely be back again :)

Shangrila always a great experience. Top class property and top notch service. Close to most of the city amnesties, entertainment, business and shopping. Travelling after the pandemic. Terrible airport services and long wait at the airport for baggage. This place was relaxing. Comfortable stay and well needed getaway

The Shangri-La is truly an unique experience. The staff is well prepared and attentive to their guest's needs and the service makes you feel right at home. Starting at Wednesday, the hotel lobby offers musical entertainment every from mid-afternoon to night hours, with excellent options from exquisite cocktails to exotic Asian cuisine for dinner. The front desk concierge Dean was very nice, helping me with late night dinner arrangements and offered helpful shopping advice in the hotel whereabouts. Definitely would come back to the Shangri-La in my next business trip to Toronto.

Soulless hotel designed for people visiting on a business trip. Does not have the beauty of the Shangri La in Paris or London. If you are looking for that kind of chic and beautiful vibe don’t pick this place. If you go for a business trip go ahead. The restaurant next door Momofoku Noodle Bar is good.
