I stayed at the Isabella on August 11, 2012 with my wife. To say that we were disappointed with the room we were provided is an understatement. I booked a standard double room from expedia and expected a standard room that I am used to through past experience. The room we received was a closet--8X9ft at best, the bathroom was...

We foolishly bought a dealfind.com sale for this place. Arrived Friday July 27th, 2012 only to discover that they did not keep our reservation. Tried giving us three separate rooms. All had the same problem... no lights working, no blinds on the windows...and the Air Conditioning units made horrible noises and did not work. (The digital thermostats were set to...

Don't expect too much and you will be fine. The breakfast is included but a little bit poor. Even compared to real budget hotels. The staff is nice and friendly and the rooms are clean. For this price nothing to complain in Toronto.

Just returned from a 2 night stay at Isabella.Great location,we could walk everywhere. Good value for your money. Pretty basic, small room. Free continental breakfast was nice. they have a restaurant attached called Gabby's which has a nice outdoor patio.Parking is only 15 a night and just across the street which was handy. Really small bed and flat pillow, did not sleep...

We stayed there for a night as we were getting ready to say goodbye to Canada for good. So with 6 suitcases we found the space a bit too cramped and yes the bed sheets weren't cleaned. The breakfast was sumptuous. Had a good nites sleep though which we were very scared as the whole regoin from Sherbourne to wellseley...

I went there in June 2012, as soon as I came in my room there was that bizarre smell of Febreeze trying to cover something... soon I discovered food near the bed and a bizarre brown and smelly stain on the pillow (please don't ask for more details). Lots of noise and me and my kids did not sleep well...

I had booked my stay at Isabella Hotel well in advance... it was supposed to be a two night stay in toronto with my sister and father. The first night we were accosted by bedbugs, we were bitten and discovered one in the bed in the wee hours of the morning-- 5am to be exact. When this was mentioned in...

I didn't look on here before we stayed at Isabella hotel but I am quite suprised about the bad reviews. We got this hotel for a good price and the room we had was large and roomy with a safa and dining table as well as the bed, flat screen tv and coffee making facilities. We also had a jacuzzi...

Stayed here for a night in April, and I didn't read too much about this hotel prior to staying except seeing a few pictures, which looked pretty good, on the site it was booked. I wish I had taken time to read some of the reviews here. While the cost of the room was decent there are many things to...

Stayed here for 2 nights after b & b that I was booked at was oversold. I was told by b& b that I would be placed in different hotel but ended up at Isabella. What a major disappointment! Room was as wide as a double bed and tiny nightstand. One tiny window half obstructed by a/c unit. Had to...

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
