On Sunday August 28th, 2022, my wife and I arrived around 4:00 pm at the Holiday Inn Express & Suites. For check-in, the friendly front desk staff welcomed us. We noticed that the Inn was newly built, public places were bright and colorful, impeccably clean, and well arranged. It was easy and quick at getting our magnetic room key. Our second floor Standard King Bedroom was available and accessible by elevator. From our window we could see the left side parking lot. During our stay, we parked in front of the building which was more convenient for us. It was only a short drive to newly opened restaurants. Front desk staff had recommended we try the Local Pub & Oster Bar in Charlottetown, and we did. Next morning, the complimentary hot breakfast buffet was delicious. Before leaving the premises, the front desk made sure we got our invoice statement. We do appreciate Holiday Inn’s cleanliness standards and would recommend it and would rate our stay as four stars.…

I had plenty of space in my room. The bed was very comfortable. The shower got hot quickly and had good water pressure. The staff was helpful, professional and knowledgeable. There are several restaurants near the hotel. Yet one has to drive to the touristy places. The breakfast buffet was good. There were several tour groups staying at the hotel when I was there. They made the dining room crowded at breakfast. Even with a lot of guests the hotel was quiet.

Although this hotel appeared new in pictures and.it has been renovated, if a moldy, musty smell bothers you, stay clear. For the same price and location, stay at the Hampton next door. We checked in, went to the room and tried to open a window to get rid of the smell … the window wouldn’t stay open so we propped it with a coat hanger until people started smoking in front of our main floor room. We moved to the Delta and had a wonderful experience there… spend the extra- enjoy your vacation . I will say the staff was great at the Holiday Inn, understood our disappointment and issued a refund.

Reserved a room for 4 adults 1 child.... two queen beds.... if you know how mathematics works, you will understand a bed is missing.... of all the hotels I went during my vacation it's the only place the told me by reserving on internet I didn't get a rollaway bed and since the hotel was full, the lady in the front desk suggested that one of us slept on the floor.... For 300$ a night sleeping on the floor is a bit expensive.... Breakfast was cold.

The lows: Booked a room for 5 people for 6 nights, months in advance. When we got there, we were told that a cot for our 5th person was A) extra and B) on a first come, first served basis and not guaranteed. Lots of places charge extra for the cot, but they do so *at the time you book the room for 5 people*, not wait until you show up and then tell you one person may or may not have a place to sleep. Also, as other reviews have mentioned the hotel is very noisy. Both noise from the halls, which the hotel can't completely control, but the doors aren't very well sealed, and the air conditioners are extremely noisy. The highs: The rooms were nice and clean. The breakfast was excellent, if busy. Good mix of food, and they change up the hot items daily so that if you're staying a while you're not eating the same thing every day. we've stayed at many hotels the past two summers and this would be the worst Holiday Inn experience. The hallways were noisy, the door locks on the guest rooms didn't shut properly so everyone's doors slammed. The security door to the outside slammed LOUDLY. The door between the pool/gym and guest rooms slammed LOUDLY. Until midnight. Then started again at 5 in the morning. The darkening curtains did not close all the way. The beds were lumpy and squeaked when we moved around. And to top all this off, the breakfast buffet was awful. Starting with the crappy coffee. This is a first in all our stays at Holiday Inns.

This is not typical Holiday Inn with 4-5 or more stories. From the front, there are just 2 stories. But when you enter the reception, you realize that you are on the second floor already and the back side of the building has 3 stories, and the hotel is quite big. Room was nice and clean, but the AC was so loud, it woke me up several time during the night. There is a big gap on 2 sides of the door, probably ¼ of the inch. You can hear everything from the corridor. Bathroom was very clean. The mirror had additional lighting all around. They use Dove products, 3 big bottles are attached to the wall above the bathtub: Shampoo, conditioner and body wash. There is no ventilation in the bathroom. All your moisture and smells stay there for a while. This was really surprising; I thought all the hotels have ventilation in the bathroom. Sometimes it turns on automatically when you turn on the light. There is a Keurig coffee machine. But there was only one pod of regular coffee and one of decaf. So, if 2 people drink regular coffee, you need to go to the reception and ask for it. And we had just one paper coffee cup. It didn’t bother me, as our room was close to a breakfast room, and we could go there when we needed tea, but may be inconvenient for other people who live in the other side of the hotel. We love tea, but it was just herbal tea, so when we decided to have a tea, I had to go into breakfast room as there were no black tea in my room. It may be small and nothing, but it spoils the impression. Breakfast was good. Hot table had eggs or omelet, sausage or meat patties or bacon and home fries. There was a machine for pancakes. It was Danone yogurt all the time and some pastries. All days were OK except for one when the breakfast room was packed with people. When we came, there was no hot food. We waited 10 minutes before they start bringing it. First, they brought just 10 portion of omelet, them 3 minutes late 10 slices of bacon, then 3 minutes later the potato. Me and my husband were 3rd in line, so it took us 20 minutes to get the hot food, which got cold, by the time we got all 3 items. But when we at last got the potato, the line up was probably 20 people and the line just moved by 5-6 people. So, I do not envy the people who were in the end of the line. It was good that on that day we were not in a hurry and can spend some time in the breakfast room. If it happened some other day when we had to leave quickly, I would not be happy. And looks like this is a regular problem in this hotel as I just saw it in some other reviews and looks like we were lucky, it was just 20 minutes for us. The hotel has a nice swimming pool, but the tiles, where the water meets the air, look dirty. Other surfaces are cleaned on a regular basis. You need to take towels from the reception. This also didn’t make sense to me. If I will be in Charlottetown, I would probably choose another hotel. I cannot say that experience was really bad, but it was not really good either. I would try something else.…

We found the customer service to be poor. The front desk staff were not helpful and would not listen upon check-in. They also ran out of breakfast and there was a lineup for food that lasted well over two hours. They seem to not understand or care that they were many people ready to eat. They were not prepared. If you have a chance to stay at a comparable hotel elsewhere I would recommend it It’s relatively clean.

Good location near the airport. About a ten minute drive downtown. Room was big and comfy for sure. Easy, safe parking. Check-in was simple. Not happy about some idiot weekend bikers that arrived at about 11pm and decided to crack the throttle to full before shutting down for the night - so inconsiderate for these dummies. I saw them the next morning - all the same age as me....but reliving something from 40 years ago??? That put a stain on the visit but not the hotels fault at all.
