The hotel was clean, the beds were comfortable and the rooms were spacious. We were travelling with kids and the pool doesn’t open until 8 am and closes in the middle of the day for cleaning. It would be ideal to open earlier in the am for families (like most hotels - 6-7 am)- if the mid day closure has to happen. Also the breakfast although good- didn’t have a lot of variety. The pancake machine was broken but the kitchen staff made sure homemade pancakes were available right away. Which was nice and appreciated. We would definitely stay again. Great location!

Stayed weekend of February 9th-12th, 2023 for our daughter's hockey tournament: Issues with Room: - bathroom is very small - both mirrors are located in the bathroom, which is challenging with teenage daughters when the whole family if trying to get ready and out the door for an early morning games - lack of hot water in bathroom and tub didn't drain No Liquor License / Issues with Security: - Hotel does not have a liquor license to cover the downstairs conference room to allow coaches and parents to have a place to gather and consume alcohol after the games. - We should have been advised of them when we first called and reserved the block of rooms and the conference room. Had we known this prior, we would have sought out another hotel and avoided everyone a lot of trouble. Instead, we were stalked and had to deal with Security all weekend. I've never so unwelcome in a hotel. - We've been traveling for hockey for 7+ years and have never encountered this before. Normally, hotels want us to book a conference room so that the noise/commotion is away from the guest rooms and we don't disturb anyone else. - We booked this hotel because many of the parents had stayed here before for hockey tournaments and had no issues. I'm assuming the property is now under new management and that is the result of the change in the liquor license. - If they want to host hockey teams during the winter months, they'll need to figure out the liquor licensing that allows the consumption of alcohol in the downstairs conference room. - It was an unfortunate experience and we will not be back. - The Rodd Charlottetown closer to downtown does have the required liquor license and the teams that stayed there had no issues at all. I would recommend staying at that one instead. …

We booked it based on the reviews here and got really disappointed. This place is not cheap, but it's just like a motel inside. Black mold is everywhere in the bathroom. The lights were broken, blood stain on the bed sheet, super thin wall. AC is noisy, like 30 years old. The only good thing is they offer unlimited bottle water. I would not recommend it to anyone.

Stayed at Rodd Royalty. You can tell the property is aging but it in overall well maintained. Great rates compared to other hotels. Only issue that the elevator is not accessible for certain floors and sections of the property.

We were there in Halloween and it was nice to see them have the lobby decorated and festive. Lobby cleaning girl was very courteous and she made us feel welcomed. Room was nice and surprisingly had a fridge and microwave which we hadn't expected.

Maybe it's me, other people seem to love this place, but my wife and I just didnt enjoy our stay at all. That could be in part because the practice of serving cold sausages and potatoes for breakfast on paper plates with plastic cutlery needs to be experienced to fully appreciate how utterly depressing that can be. We were booked in for a three night stay in September as part of a touring holiday across Nova Scotia. Check in was fine, the staff were polite and friendly, and I am pleased to report they were equally polite and friendly when we checked out again early the next morning. Tellingly, they showed no surprise that our three night stay had been shortened to one night, and an equal amount of interest as to why that might be. The hotel itself is fine for what it is, but it's a conference centre, with limited facilities in the rooms and an apparent lack of cleaning staff. The room was grubby, tired and unwelcoming. The view from our rather insecure looking patio doors was surprising. I like an air conditioning unit as much as the next man, and luckily it helped block the unwelcome sight of people from the adjacent swimming pool parading around just yards from our window, but on reflection I don't think it helped us warm to the place much. The hotel is located on the intersection of a busy highway. Admittedly, there are shops nearby. There is a pet food shop, a tyre repair centre and several fast food outlets all within easy walking distance. I would suggest a walk into town for souvenir shops is only for the most determined of tourists, and a drive into town is only for the most patient. Traffic was very heavy when we tried, and we abandoned the idea as really not worth the effort. Worryingly, we were also advised against leaving anything in view in our car or using the rear car park overnight as hotel guests have experienced quite a few thefts from their cars. One look at the surrounding area was enough to convince me of the wisdom of the advice. Needless to say, our stay was not a positive experience for us but that is in large part down to our tour company booking a hotel that was not appropriate for our holiday expectations. (don't book with Cox & King's) It is then perhaps a bit harsh to critcise the hotel too much. If you want a functional hotel in which to hold your conference and you have a devil may care attitude toward your belongings and digestive health, then this could be a very good choice.…

My mother recommended this hotel as she stayed here a few years ago but I was nothing but disappointed with the hotel for the price. I would pay maybe half for what I got. They need to get rid of the tiling in the shower because obviously they can’t maintain the cleanliness of it. Bed was poorly made. Breakfast buffet was a disappointment. Cold and minimal options

I stayed due to having no power for like 14 days. There was no hot water my whole stay and they were very rude about it. 2 dried up contact lenses on bathroom floor and two fresh ones tell me the bathroom likely wasn’t cleaned well. I also was made to wait over an hour to check in and was not offered late check out or anything. Would like to come back due to location but would like to have more accommodating staff when and if unexpected issues happen.
