We experienced exceptional friendliness and service. Kudos especially to Tyler and Manu who went above and beyond. I did not give this a 5 star rating because the beds were not the most comfortable. The rest was great including the restaurant on premises.

In town for a conference. Room was clean, staff were pleasant! No concerns on that end. I did however notice that on one occasion, the cleaning staff didn’t actually clean my room. Used towels were removed, but not replaced, dirty surface were just left. But the cleaning staff the following day cleaned everything well! So it made up for that. I would still recommend and stay again.

I know it’s a cheap hotel but I think it’s strange there was no turn down service. Coffee, towels, soaps, etc weren’t replaced for my stay. Quiet time is supposed to be 10pm - not enforced. There is a fire door outside the room door that kept being closed by my neighbouring room (due to the noise), I had to get the front desk to open, this took 10-15 minutes every time I wanted to get in my room. Location is great, service is bad - you get what you pay for I guess.

I have no complaints regarding the staff, as they were friendly and accommodating. However, I cannot recommend this hotel and will not be staying there again. 1) I was expecting better service from a hotel that does not provide parking or breakfast. 2) Our room did not have any notepaper, pens, nor robes. (Which was an oversight by the staff). 3) The elevators take an inordinate amount of time to be called - there are only two in the hotel, and they are mostly occupied by cleaning staff. 4) Showers are constructed in such a way that there is no choice but to end up with a pool of water on the bathroom floor. (there is no shower curtain; just a holf wall of glass, and then a half wall of open space. 5) Shower heads are installed very low on the wall. If you are 5'10 or taller - good luck. 6) We were woken at 8:20 AM by a staff member who repeatedly kept knocking on our door. When I asked what they wanted, they said, "Did you need any towels?". We had not request towels, nor did we request room service. 7) If you are looking for an adult experience, this is not the hotel for you. There were numerous children running around the hallways yelling and making noise. 8) Elevator floors constantly soaked with water from people using them after they come from the hot tub and pool.

I've rarely left a hotel feeling as absolutely neutral as I did about this one. For everything I liked, there was something I didn't and vice versa. For *me* personally, it was closer to a 3 star experience, but I rated it as 4 because I think there are things which would make it a good fit for others. To start with the pros: The staff was very friendly and the beds very comfortable. My room was clean, room service was swift, and there were plenty of towel and toiletries. If you're looking for a central location in Charlottetown, it's hard to be better located than this. This is also a very pet friendly location, if you are traveling with a furry friend. On the flip side, the Holman lacks any particular charm. It was very generic feeling. The hallways and shared spaces felt more like a dorm than a "grand hotel". My corner room was weirdly situated in a way that if the curtains were open, you could see into my room from the hallway. The frosted window on the bathroom door feels a little intrusive and I didn't love the positioning of the shower directly in front of the mirror. Because the glass doesn't cover the entire shower, there was a fair amount of residual splash on the floor as well. There was a surprising lack of usb or charging ports. The only "charging dock" was on top of an outdated clock/radio which would have supported a first generation iPhone. The key cards were extremely sensitive and easy to demagnetize. The available parking is a valet service. I did find this personally limiting in terms of the times I would leave Charlottetown. I felt bad getting my car more than once a day. Those staying primarily in Charlottetown may not have the same issue. The pool area is pretty small and would likely be chaotic with more than three families there at once. All in all, it was a fairly priced hotel that had last minute availability when I needed it, so I feel fortunate for the stay. I can't say that I would never return... but neither would I likely seek it out.

This is an impressive pet friendly hotel with a perfect location in downtown Charlottetown. Pretty well everything is within walking distance- the Confederation Center, the waterfront, hiking trails, shops and restaurants. You can expect a warm welcome at the front desk and an immaculately clean room with a comfortable bed. Bonus - the rooms have no carpets and there is a small window to let in fresh air! If you don’t find one of their cozy bathrobes in your closet, advise the front desk and they will make sure you have one for your stay. I highly recommend the Holman Grand Hotel for a visit to PEI’s beautiful capital city.

I'd like to leave a great review, because so many of the staff were lovely and helpful. However, the same cannot be said for their guest services manager, Luke Thompson. I have travelled all over the world and stayed in countless hotels, and NEVER encountered such terrible customer service. This man is rude, condescending, and unprofessional. He actually made my wife cry, and we were only trying to ask a simple question. He will be the solo reason we never return to this hotel, and that's unfortunate. Do better, Holman, this staff member is ruining your reputation!

Absolutely disgusting experience at front desk check-in : absolutely inexcusable. It's months later and still no resolution from hotwire or the GM of this property. For a luxury hotel with such high prices one would expect basic courtesy and decency at check-in. I've travelled all over the world and by far this was the worst treatment at a hotel I had ever experienced. I am not going to get into specifics here but multiple Emails to the GM were not adequately addressed.
