We enjoyed staying here on our visit to Montreal -- quite a few years ago. Unfortunately, we have looked for Hotel Jazz online and it appears to have closed. We can't find any trace of it on the internet. Too bad, it really was a nice place -- a beautiful property, nicely fixed up, and the staff were very nice!

This was our second stay at this great hotel. We had passport issues and weren't able to make our first night. They accommodated our delay, allowed us to check in early, and gave us a private/quiet room. The front desk and I had emailed several times prior to the trip. They are kind, efficient, and willing to you do whatever...

Cost me $20 per night on a deal and the place was fantastic; 10 days during the Grand Prix; the dorm room I had virtually on my own in the annex was spotlessly clean. A great location too, downtown was a short walk away as was the no.1 metro interchange [Berri-UQAM] I'd give the place six stars if I could....

I made a last minute trip to Montreal for a busy weekend. When I called around many hotels were booked, and it was impossible to get a room for two nights. Thanks to Google, I found Hotel Jazz. When I called they had a room and a parking spot available. When we arrived, the hosts welcomed us, and directed us...

I can't wait to go back to Montreal and stay here again -- what a treat! When I called to book the room (which was last minute), they did not take my credit card number even after I asked if they wanted it. They just requested if I changed my mind about the room to please call them back right...

We really enjoyed Hotel Jazz! Our room was lovely and we had a lot of space. The location was excellent for walking or taking the Metro to restaurants and tourist destinations. Melanie and Jean-Sebastien were excellent hosts, gracious in both English and French. We loved the big breakfasts, which gave us a great start every day. We would definitely stay...

We spent 3 nights here in June 2010. The hotel is situated in a great location in the Latin Quarter of Montreal. The hosts were very helpful. The room was great with good facilities. The breakfasts were wonderful with plenty of variety. For the price this hotel was excellent value.

We stayed at the Jazz for 5 nights in early February and found it both delightful and convenient; at C$100/night it was a bargain. The room was large, well-appointed and quiet, with a comfortable bed; it was meticulously serviced each day. The host and hostess were most genial and especially informative and helpful with reservations and questions about local sights,...

Staying in The Village (Gay Village)

Neighbourhood Profile
The Village (Gay Village)
The rainbow pillars of Beaudry Métro Station shepherd the way into to The Village, one of the largest hubs for gay and lesbian culture in North America. With an open layout and a congenial aura, the refurbished buildings along Rue Sainte-Catherine pay a special homage to menswear and to caffeine, with showrooms and cafes. By morning, the antiquing gems along Amherst Street are packed with collectors. An incredible party spot, The Village comes alive at night, when clubs, bars, and dance halls open their doors and the revelry is high, epitomised by the fanciful trimmings of the apropos Oscar Wilde building. From May to September, the area closes to automotive traffic, allowing restaurant terraces to pour onto the streets, creating a dynamic sense of community. Les Boules Roses, thousands of pink baubles, are hung to welcome in the festivals and celebrations, including Montréal en Arts, Divers-Cité, and the Pride Parade.
