Welcoming by the hostess, whose name is Blandine I think, is very pleasant. I must say she’s the soul of this B&B. Because then, don’t expect any smile from Emilie, the young queen of the breakfast sector nor from her male colleague... About breakfast it’s a continental one plus 1 omelette or 1 pancake (all very good) made by Emilie...

Stayed for 3 nights in room #4. The ONLY negative was a busy street outside - at all hours. Now the positives: -Very central and easy to find - Very comfy memory foam bed - Owners very friendly and gave great recommendations on what to see and how to get there - breakfasts were fresh made and EXCELLENT...good coffee too...

What a wonderful surprise for my boyfriend and I over Black and Blue weekend in October. Great service, super location, cooked-to-order breakfast, and extremely comfortable beds. All for a real bargain price. Stayed in room 8, a double room with private bath for about $110/night booking directly. We will always check here first for future visits to Montreal. While not...

My partner and I travelled to Montreal with my mother to see Cirque du Soliel and tour the Botanical Gardens. We stayed for 3 nights in the 2 bedroom apartment and could not have been happier with our choice of accommodation. Being less than a block to the closest Metro entrance made transportation a breeze. We parked the car for...

My boyfriend and I were visiting Montreal for a concert. I did a lot of research into a place to stay and the B&B did not disappoint. We had all of the amenities of a hotel (en suite, a/c, privacy, wifi), but we also had the luxury of a cozy home environment. The decor was very cool, kind of an...

I got a call from the owner (Rock) of this B&B recently, checking on me whether I had problems on my last stay at his B&B in June 2009. More specifically, whether I had bed bug problems because I happened to be given the same room right after the last guest (a "craighardie" who posted a very negative review here...

Staying in The Village (Gay Village)

Neighbourhood Profile
The Village (Gay Village)
The rainbow pillars of Beaudry Métro Station shepherd the way into to The Village, one of the largest hubs for gay and lesbian culture in North America. With an open layout and a congenial aura, the refurbished buildings along Rue Sainte-Catherine pay a special homage to menswear and to caffeine, with showrooms and cafes. By morning, the antiquing gems along Amherst Street are packed with collectors. An incredible party spot, The Village comes alive at night, when clubs, bars, and dance halls open their doors and the revelry is high, epitomised by the fanciful trimmings of the apropos Oscar Wilde building. From May to September, the area closes to automotive traffic, allowing restaurant terraces to pour onto the streets, creating a dynamic sense of community. Les Boules Roses, thousands of pink baubles, are hung to welcome in the festivals and celebrations, including Montréal en Arts, Divers-Cité, and the Pride Parade.
