I just needed a place, with parking, as a base to explore the greater Montreal area. I booked because the price was right, the parking was free and convenient and the location met my needs. The first thing I found objectional was the stink of cigarette smoke as I entered the reception area. The motel is old and in need...

Wow!! The receptionist tried her best to accommodate but the windows in 2 rooms did not lock, one other room did not have WIFI and the last one was mediocre. I understand that you get what you pay for but please don't advertise WIFI or a safe locked room if you can't deliver. I was there and needed to work...

Booked this room for 3 people, well in advance, so you would expect them to be prepared, right? Well unfortunately, that was not the case. The room was set up for 2 people, with not enough soap, not enough towels etc. Shall I mention the Wifi? Not worth it because it barely worked to begin with, was slow when it...

I've traveled quite a bit, and I can honestly say that I've had better accommodations in third world countries and cheap hostels. This hotel was dirty, even though we were told "No smoking means no smoking" every room we tried just reeked of smoke. We had to try several rooms because each one we tried was progressively worse - and...

I made a reservation 3 months in advance of my stay. I confirmed the date, and the event that I was attending. When the event got closer, they called and informed me that their rate had increased by 100%. This was the most unethical company that I have ever encountered.

While travelling on a coast to coast road trip across Canada my friends and I stayed at the motel le marquis. As a first time visitor to Montreal I wasn't sure what to expect from the city but knew more or less what I was going to get when I booked in at the motel. I'm going to be brutally...

Pros: quiet (we're there for a Monday night), descent bathroom pieces, towels and sheets; Okay AC (loud but worked) Cons: Broken furniture and shabby-looking building; The TV remote control was given to us at the time of checking in, and we were told to bring it to the front at the time of checkout; Lady at the front had to...

The Motel Marquis is a bit of a mixed bag. Given the price, the rooms are of a reasonable quality but the exterior of the building and parking lot show their age and lack of upkeep. Don’t misunderstand me, the neighborhood is solid working class and driving access to the location is very good but this is not a place...

But the hotel was not the same as stated with clean rooms and the rooms were not well taken care of. Me and my wife found pubic hair in the shower. the furniture was broken. We only stayed there about half hour then asked for a refund but the lady was very rude and said no refunds aloud and to...

This hotel is a little bit out-of-the-way from downtown area but it's clean with free parking and subway is 1 block away. I stayed in a newly renovated room. Very basic. The only negative are the room is tiny and the fitted sheets don't fit the mattress properly. I found a long hair in my towel hanging on the rack...

Staying in Olympic Park & Hochelaga-Maisonneuve (HoMa)

Neighbourhood Profile
Olympic Park & Hochelaga-Maisonneuve (HoMa)
Named for the Olympic Stadium complexes built for the 1976 games, the Olympic Park and the surrounding neighbourhood of Hochelaga-Maisonneuve (HoMa) make up an invigorated area dedicated to "Space for Life." Around the Olympic Village's arenas and stadiums, Rue Sherbrooke welcomes exploration of its sculpture gardens decorated in the works of Jean-Paul Riopelle and its museum culture headed by the historical Château Dufresne. Maisonneuve Park offers interactive experiences at its bio-dome, insectarium, planetarium, and botanical gardens. For a change of scene, the gentrified space along Rue Ontario Est is packed with the city's newest, edgiest cafes, where an imaginative, youthful crowd sips foamy cappuccinos. A visit here is incomplete without stepping into the vast halls of the Maisonneuve Market, with flower stalls, wine depots, and local produce.
