This is a hotel located in a really good area if you're a tourist or a high school student checking out McGill University. It's in a nice part of downtown, close to good shops and lots of good food. And the price of the rooms are clearly driven by the good location. The room itself is spacious but here's the...

This hotel has the perfect location in downtown, is close to everything. The personal is very gently, helpfull and make everything to the customer. The room is modern, big and comfortable. The parking lot is underground with direct access from the lobby using elevators and easy to park, a little bit expensive. The Bar has a good variety of beers. The...

The hotel is very well located for the shopping crowd, or people looking for a location close to the Bell Centre. Stayed in a double queen bedroom with my wife and 4-1/2 y/o son. The room is was little cramped but well maintained. From the lobby to the room, the decor is very modern. The room itself was also modern...

Great hotel in a fantastic location with friendly staff. Has all you need for a very comfortable stay. Would have got 5 stars but still struggle to see how wi fi is not free in hotels these days, $10 for 24 hours is ok but surely it is a given these days?

I stayed at the Novotel Montreal Center for two nights on a recent sightseeing tip to the city. The hotel was an ideal base, located close by Crescent St and the main shopping thoroughfares. The room was cosy and well-appointed, with great blackout curtains, a decent view, air conditioning and a comfy king-sized bed. I also enjoyed drinks in the...

Spent 3 nights but never experienced any issues with the noise as mentioned in some reviews. Building is a bit older but the room we had was large with comfy beds. Some door handles were loose, bath towels were wearing a bit thin and the bar fridge wasn't cold, but overall it was clean and the staff we met were...

Stayed at the Novotel Montreal Center from Aug. 2-6. Great hotel, all staff in the restaurant and at the front desk were very friendly and accomodating. The room and bathroom were very clean. Excellent location -- one block from Rue St. Catherine -- many stores on that street and one block from Rue Crescent -- many bars and restaurants on...

Novotel lacks for it´s poor breaksfast system, but if you do not intend to have breakfast there, go ahead, good location by the colleges and pubs. Very nice! There's one thing, the room has a lot of space, and as all the Novotel, it´s very clean.

Staying in Centre-Ville (Downtown)

Neighbourhood Profile
Centre-Ville (Downtown)
Montreal's towering skyline is concentrated in the Downtown area, its nexus of commerce and commercialism. A suffusion of luxury hotels, flagship stores, high-end restaurants, and corporate headquarters characterize the neighborhood, which by nightfall transforms from a business district into a youth-culture hotspot, with hip bars, clubs, and restaurants heavily peopled by students and young professionals. The once-seat of millionaire's 'Golden Square Mile', an incongruity of stately mansions and dapper brownstones sit between glass skyscrapers, creating a visually lush urban landscape. Beneath the sidewalks lay the Underground City, the world's largest below-ground mall, a labyrinth of over 1,500 shops and eateries that echo the profusion of cafes, gallerias, cinemas, and fashion outlets above. From the scholarly array at McGill University to the carousing crowds of Rue Crescent, visit Downtown to shop by day for what you'll wear there by night.
