This charming B&B is perfectly maintained and attentively managed by the host couple. We enjoyed the location because it was easy walking distance to Old Montreal. We slept very well in the quiet room and comfortable bed. There were two things we forgot to adequately research. First there are no TVs in the rooms. Normally this would be fine since...

We have stayed here several times before but were very surprised this morning to discover that this guest house had changed from a gay men's home to a mixed couple's B & B! It still is very nice and well run but just not the same! We understand that the owner may see this as a way to augment his...

I really enjoyed my stay at la conciergerie. Not only is the location perfect to explore Montreal and the gay village, the guest house itself is lovely and well run. Nothing was too much and I was really well looked after by all. This is definitely my place to stay whenever I come back to Montreal

First of all, to be charitable, the Gay Village is down on its heels. Were I more direct I could call it a slum. Addicts in doorways shooting up? Really? That said, La Conciergerie was a great place to stay. My room was on the ground floor and arrived the day after a tremendous thunderstorm. Basements are damp...old basements even...

We stayed with our son in a beautiful room near a large deck-- an outdoor living room where we enjoyed meeting other guests and absorbing the backyard residential scene. The various inviting public spaces made this a good choice for us, letting us spread out. Our hosts kept everything humming along smoothly, with good humor and a preternatural sense for...

Michael was a great host! He arranged a welcome wine and cheese tray for us which our daughter had called about. He also was of great assistance in finding us a parking spot on the street. Breakfast was one of the better continental breakfasts we have had and the view from the dining room is beautiful. Our room was very...

I truly enjoyed a 2 night stay at La Conciergerie during a recent work trip. The location was perfect - within easy walking distance to the Limocar bus station and food/drink spots, as well as to the old town area. A great art fair was happening on the nearby pedestrian street during my stay, which made my leisure hours very...

Michael was a great host. The B&B is located within walking distance to old Montreal, the Latin quarter and more. We didn't move our car for days. The house is beautiful and well kept. Beds are comfortable. Breakfast is a good continental breakfast (hard boiled eggs, fruit, yogurt, breads). Garden is beautiful, though we didn't have time to sit out...

We just got back from a terrific trip to Montreal and Quebec City. In Montreal my wife and I stayed at La Conciergie on the strength of previous reviews. Luc and Michael were terrific hosts, and they run a really great B&B. The rooms were comfortable and spacious, and the breakfast was simple and perfect, with hours extending to 11...

The Guest House was perfectly located between the Gay Village and Old Montreal. Easy walk to both. The accommodations were fine for the money. Clean. The breakfast room in the basement was a beautiful room with an outdoor garden. There is a roof top deck that you can sunbath. The Guest house is not exclusively gay so if you are...

Staying in Olympic Park & Hochelaga-Maisonneuve (HoMa)

Neighbourhood Profile
Olympic Park & Hochelaga-Maisonneuve (HoMa)
Named for the Olympic Stadium complexes built for the 1976 games, the Olympic Park and the surrounding neighbourhood of Hochelaga-Maisonneuve (HoMa) make up an invigorated area dedicated to "Space for Life." Around the Olympic Village's arenas and stadiums, Rue Sherbrooke welcomes exploration of its sculpture gardens decorated in the works of Jean-Paul Riopelle and its museum culture headed by the historical Château Dufresne. Maisonneuve Park offers interactive experiences at its bio-dome, insectarium, planetarium, and botanical gardens. For a change of scene, the gentrified space along Rue Ontario Est is packed with the city's newest, edgiest cafes, where an imaginative, youthful crowd sips foamy cappuccinos. A visit here is incomplete without stepping into the vast halls of the Maisonneuve Market, with flower stalls, wine depots, and local produce.
