We recently spent a few days here, and we loved it. Regie is such a welcoming host, and his house is immaculately clean and very comfortable. Our en suite room was compact and quirky and comfortable. Regie is accommodating, friendly, and full of helpful suggestions. I wanted to bring the breakfast room home with me. ;D

How often do we remember a place where we stayed? Well, this is a place you'll remember. It is the home of Regie and he expresses himself in its decoration. He is a lovely warm, nurturing person who makes you feel very much at home. The breakfasts he cooks himself are an expression of the care he takes of his...

POSITIVES – Good location, some very quaint possibly eccentric but enjoyable and unusual features. It was quiet. NEGATIVES – No fridge or printing facilities. Not cheap. No tea or coffee making facilities. Wifi can drop out. SUMMARY – Overall we were pleased enough with the accommodation – nice for a change but relatively expensive read on to decide if it...

We stayed twice for 3 respectively 2 nights in this lovely place during our 3 weeks Canada-travel and enjoyed it both times. Regie is extremely forthcoming and friendly as is his collegue. The homemade breakfast with fresh, tasty fruit was probably the best we had in Canada. The place is overall relatively small but furnitured with extreme attention to detail...

We spent a week at Le St Christophe. The room was good, our host was very welcoming & helpful and it was in a fairly central location - within walking distance of a number of attractions as well as conveniently located near to a Metro station. The breakfasts were delicious

I have stayed here for 4 nights, when I was traveling alone between conference meetings. The location is really good because it is right on the doorstep of UQAM Montreal subway station, and a street away from the gay village which has lots of dinning options and stay open till late. You can walk to the old town from here...

Staying in The Village (Gay Village)

Neighbourhood Profile
The Village (Gay Village)
The rainbow pillars of Beaudry Métro Station shepherd the way into to The Village, one of the largest hubs for gay and lesbian culture in North America. With an open layout and a congenial aura, the refurbished buildings along Rue Sainte-Catherine pay a special homage to menswear and to caffeine, with showrooms and cafes. By morning, the antiquing gems along Amherst Street are packed with collectors. An incredible party spot, The Village comes alive at night, when clubs, bars, and dance halls open their doors and the revelry is high, epitomised by the fanciful trimmings of the apropos Oscar Wilde building. From May to September, the area closes to automotive traffic, allowing restaurant terraces to pour onto the streets, creating a dynamic sense of community. Les Boules Roses, thousands of pink baubles, are hung to welcome in the festivals and celebrations, including Montréal en Arts, Divers-Cité, and the Pride Parade.

“We did have the one room with private bathroom/shower. Considering the kind of travelers we met in the place we believe it is fine to book the other rooms as well.”
