Dark and depressing. The parking garage is only worse. Not sure why we have to pay $27 to park there while staying at the hotel. Should be free or significantly discounted for residents as the parking is also 'public' parking. The hotel address also faces a different street than the entrance and that gets you in to a big kerfuffle...

This is one of Montreals older 20th century hotels but has been thoroughly and comprehensively refurbished. This was 3 nights in Montreal visiting my wife's city of childhood. Not much of a tourist visit here, more a trip down memory lane to a place she hasn't visited since the 1980's. As I'm an IHG member I was redeeming points for...

Having clients in town attending a conference at the Montreal Convention Center I was had pressed to find accommodations at the last minute moreover realistically priced. A friend had suggested the Holiday Inn Centre Ville. I decided to give this property a try. As one appreciates when booking last minute given everything around is sold out or priced out of...

Stayed here for one night and was sorta glad it was only one night. Rooms need updating, beds were uncomfortable and sagging and don't even get me started on parking. The underground parking was full, extra construction support beams gave you that uneasy feeling of a building collapsing around you. Close to Chinatown amenities but definitely not a 5 star...

Warm reception The room itself was fine but missing all the usual facilities that I associate with a Holiday Inn such as a safe and fridge. My husband liked the gym. I was surprised to find that I had to turn the sauna on,

I have to say, I'm impressed with the Holiday Inn Centre-Ville! We were looking for an affordable hotel for a one-night stay to refresh on our way home from our road trip to Atlantic Canada. Easy check-in, parking directly beside hotel, free breakfast for our two kids, and the accommodations were clean and modern. The buffet breakfast featured bacon, eggs,...

Room was OK, not all room have bar fridges which I believe a 70.00 bar fridge can be a standard for all hotels. Clean and service was great. Staying in Chinatown

Neighbourhood Profile
Chinatown
Bakeries, markets, restaurants, and buffets crowd the brightly graffitied streets of Chinatown, the city's aromatic destination for pan-Asian cuisine. Distinguished at its entry points by towering vermillion paifang gates, the compact neighbourhood acts as a focal point for the Chinese community, hectic with educational facilities, cultural centres, acupuncturists, and foreign-language newspapers. Especially vibrant in the warmer months, when the sweet smell of dragon beard candy along the pedestrian walks of Rue de la Gauchetière signal the beginning of the outdoor street fair season, Chinatown is a treasure hunter's dream, with enough knickknack and curiosity shops to tempt even the pickiest shoppers. The convivial vibe picks up after dark, when the area's active nightlife offers evening crowds their choice of drink, dance, and midnight snacks of pho or oysters. Chinatown's mix of new and old, with herbal remedies being sold alongside pop-culture DVDs, gives the area its own animated brand of moxie.
