Upon arrival at 2:00 PM, with reservation already made, the hotel front door was locked, lights were out and no one was there to open the door. There was a number to call and fortunately, another customer had a phone and called. Ten minutes later, the front desk clerk opened the door. She had no records of our reservation. Our...

This hotel turned out to be my greatest nightmare. I booked 13 rooms for a minimum occupancy of 4 PAX per room for Osheaga week-end and the owners/managers decided did not honor their obligations. 36 people unwillingly homeless and victimized by the fools that run the show. Police raid on July 31st, 2014, marijuana selling from room 5, cigarette smoke...

Stayed here over the weekend - smoke smelling room with cigarette burnt sheets, other people's hair on pillows. The room that was assigned makes a prison cell look really accommodating. The lock did not work and there was no circulation in the room, it smelled like someone smoked and it was not aired out. For the price that was charged,...

You get what you pay for! No frills but a clean room and friendly helpful staff. Parking an issue! Skip the breakfast. Location is great - rate is great - will stay again!

Do you like Eli Roth movies? Reenact your favorite scenes with a stay at the Castel Saint Denis. Rated two stars--it's an OK, no frills youth hostel, but it isn't no hotel. Don't park on the street. Claimed breakfast was included too, but I wouldn't eat it if it were. Wireless internet is closer to connectionless internet.

This hotel is at the upper end of Rue St. Denis in the student Latin Quarter. All amenities are doled out in sparse quantities, including water, soap, AC. But the location is great and the staff are really helpful and friendly. Pretend you are splurging after backpacking in Europe and you will be very happy. Highly recommended for a central...

Castel St. Denis is a very basic budget hotel. The rooms are quite spartan with a 14" televsion, queen bed and small desk. My room was very clean, as was the bed linen. According to the hotel description the rate includes a continental breakfast that is delivered to the room. However, in the five nights that I stayed at the...

Came to Montreal to attend the Osheaga music festival with my girlfriend. We selected this hotel based on the price and the reviews here on trip advisor. All we were looking for was a clean place to sleep and recharge after our days/nights out and it delivered on that. The rooms were nothing special, tv was small and the bathroom...

Our family is composed of 2 adults, 2 kids (ages 3 and 1). The rooms with the double beds are just so tiny and dingy you could not fit a pack and play properly on the corner. The bathroom was so ridiculously small (shower, no tub) it seemed dangerous to go in there. The neighborhood was really sketchy compared to...

That was a good choice. Thank to the previous reviews by other travelers I booked a hotel room at Castel St.Denis. Staying in Olympic Park & Hochelaga-Maisonneuve (HoMa)

Neighbourhood Profile
Olympic Park & Hochelaga-Maisonneuve (HoMa)
Named for the Olympic Stadium complexes built for the 1976 games, the Olympic Park and the surrounding neighbourhood of Hochelaga-Maisonneuve (HoMa) make up an invigorated area dedicated to "Space for Life." Around the Olympic Village's arenas and stadiums, Rue Sherbrooke welcomes exploration of its sculpture gardens decorated in the works of Jean-Paul Riopelle and its museum culture headed by the historical Château Dufresne. Maisonneuve Park offers interactive experiences at its bio-dome, insectarium, planetarium, and botanical gardens. For a change of scene, the gentrified space along Rue Ontario Est is packed with the city's newest, edgiest cafes, where an imaginative, youthful crowd sips foamy cappuccinos. A visit here is incomplete without stepping into the vast halls of the Maisonneuve Market, with flower stalls, wine depots, and local produce.
