When I arrived at my room the key the front desk had given me did not work. This was indeed an indication of the quality of the hotel. The person manning the front desk was not very helpful at all. She did not advise me that I had access to the club lounge for complimentary breakfast. The room was tired... More

We chose this hotel for its proximity to the train station. A benefit for us also was the proximity to the underground shopping and great restaurants. The hotel was very nice. The rooms were very neat clean and tidy. The staff was extremely personable. If returning, we would stay there again.

This place was fine. Nothing will blow you away but the accommodation were decent size and the rooms were clean. As noted in other reviews, the layout is somewhat strange and there are no elevators to take you up and down the floors, although there is an elevator that gets you from the ground floor to the main lobby area... Stayed here twice in the past month. First, the hotel sits on top of a building so when you come into the entrance you will take an express elevator to the hotel. Then you walk a down a corridor with floor to ceiling glass on either side until you reach the reception. There are roof top terraces, a pool and... More

Very pleased with the hotel and excellent service. We had the outdoor duck pond outside our room window - fun to watch. Comfy bed, spacious room and wonderful lobby - very sophisticated. We told the desk staff it was our wedding anniversary and they delivered a lovely desert for us to share with Happy Anniversary written on the plate. Swam... More

I stayed here for jazz fest during the summer. This is hotel is very big and the lay out is strange. Its in the middle of the city and if you like to walk you can walk to many of the things in the area. But there are other hotels closer to the action than this one. we tried to... More

What a weird experience. Stayed at the hotel for a business conference - the gave me a very noisy room, close to the hotel entrance and the pool and I had to ask to move. Second room was way better - still outdated but it was fine. Conference rooms doesn't have windows and are very old. The hotel doesn't have... More

Interesting vibe with all the plants growing around and the heated outdoor pool that is available in all kinds of weather. The restaurant staff was on strike, so very limited food options in the hotel. The price was right for us and the location was good. We were given good advice from the concierge.

I stayed here for an event in October and have to say the hotel and banquet areas provided two completely different experiences. The room and service was fantastic. Super clean, very modern (they recently had some updates) and the outdoor heated pool was so beautiful and relaxing. Unfortunately, the hotel was on strike and that affected the event in the... We stayed there in end september, for 3 nights. The hotel is very old, although it has a nice reception/lobby area. In our room everything was falling apart, the minibar was empty (don't understand why the deposit is needed), there wasn't any elevator to get to the room floor, and nobody asked us if we needed some help !! Unacceptable... More

Staying in Centre-Ville (Downtown)

Neighbourhood Profile
Centre-Ville (Downtown)
Montreal's towering skyline is concentrated in the Downtown area, its nexus of commerce and commercialism. A suffusion of luxury hotels, flagship stores, high-end restaurants, and corporate headquarters characterize the neighborhood, which by nightfall transforms from a business district into a youth-culture hotspot, with hip bars, clubs, and restaurants heavily peopled by students and young professionals. The once-seat of millionaire's 'Golden Square Mile', an incongruity of stately mansions and dapper brownstones sit between glass skyscrapers, creating a visually lush urban landscape. Beneath the sidewalks lay the Underground City, the world's largest below-ground mall, a labyrinth of over 1,500 shops and eateries that echo the profusion of cafes, gallerias, cinemas, and fashion outlets above. From the scholarly array at McGill University to the carousing crowds of Rue Crescent, visit Downtown to shop by day for what you'll wear there by night.
