Great location just across from the train station, clean and comfortable rooms, great service, good rates. Fantastic pool. Strange set up as it's located on the top floor of an office building, and you need to take the elevator up before you get reception, but once you figure that out it's all good

We enjoyed a late summer stay here with two rooms next to each other. I called to see if my daughter could have a slice of birthday cake in our room upon arrival and they accommodated me at no charge and the slice was beautiful & nicely decorated with happy birthday written on it. It was greatly appreciated & my...

I stayed here for business for a few days. It's a nice hotel. It's right across the street from the central train station which has many restaurants and a few shops including a supermarket. There is a refrigerator and a safe in the room so it's very convenient. The hotel lobby is located on the 12th floor so it always...

The Bonaventure, where I stayed for a conference in February, has a complete conference and hotel facility that was better than I had expected, given that you have to go up to get to the lobby and the folks at the front door seemed to be a bit skittish about telling how you are supposed to get there. Once I...

Expensive...Room was hot, heat couldn't be turned down. They charge $24 for parking per entry...that's right per entry...not per day. Or $39 for valet parking. No air conditioning. No vending machines in the hotel...they will refer you to the gift shop...bought a small bottle of powerade, a regular bottle of nestle (walmart) water and a tiny bag of chips...$10.45. Not...

We checked in hoping to have a quiet night alone, away from the kids. Which would have been nice but we ended up checking out at 1 AM the same night and going home in the hopes of actually sleeping (and I am a heavy sleeper!). The noise from the elevator was constant and so was the chatter from the...

This gargantuan hotel has the most confusing layout of any hotel I've visited. It would help if the signage were better - but plan to do a lot of walking. And I do mean walking. There was no elevator to my room (unless the confusing layout and poor signage caused me to miss it). The parking is expensive. Breakfast is...

We decided to head to downtown Montreal for the Motorsport show. Hotel Bonadventure was our first and only choice! This hotel is hard to find but well worth the search. We came in by train and did not realize if stay right in central station there is a walkway right to the hotel. If you come by train remember to...

We arrived in Montreal from Toronto by train so it was conveniently located directly adjacent the train station. At first it seems like a large hotel but only the top few floors are hotel occupied. They really made them count. The rooms are spotless, the heated outdoor pool is genius and if you are going to stay here book the...

Staying in Centre-Ville (Downtown)

Neighbourhood Profile
Centre-Ville (Downtown)
Montreal's towering skyline is concentrated in the Downtown area, its nexus of commerce and commercialism. A suffusion of luxury hotels, flagship stores, high-end restaurants, and corporate headquarters characterize the neighborhood, which by nightfall transforms from a business district into a youth-culture hotspot, with hip bars, clubs, and restaurants heavily peopled by students and young professionals. The once-seat of millionaire's 'Golden Square Mile', an incongruity of stately mansions and dapper brownstones sit between glass skyscrapers, creating a visually lush urban landscape. Beneath the sidewalks lay the Underground City, the world's largest below-ground mall, a labyrinth of over 1,500 shops and eateries that echo the profusion of cafes, gallerias, cinemas, and fashion outlets above. From the scholarly array at McGill University to the carousing crowds of Rue Crescent, visit Downtown to shop by day for what you'll wear there by night.
