We had a great stay here - the first room was on a corridor filled with a school trip, we asked to be moved and they did so pleasantly, to a much nicer room! The hotel was lovely and convenient. We would stay again.

The hotel's is conveniently located in the down town area with lots of shopping, food courts and entertainment through the underground tunnel. It is so easy to move around the different buildings without the hustle of walking outside specially when the weather so bad. Check in was smooth and rooms were neat and spacious. Service was superb, the hotel's other...

We stayed at the Bonaventure for one night at the end of our trip. We arrived by train so the fact that the train station is right across the street was a real plus. We were greeted by very nice staff that took our baggage to our room. The room was very nice with a comfortable king size bed and...

We were attending a concert at the Bell Centre. The weather was horrible.. raining nonstop. The convenient location of Hotel Bonaventure allowed us to walk to Bell Centre solely by underground tunnel.. so we never had to get wet! The front desk is on the top floor of the building.. it was a bit of a strange setup, but it...

This hotel has it all! Connected to the Bell Ctr underground, food court and skating rink underground and a rooftop heated all year round pool! The service was unbelievable. Room was clean and bedding was comfortable. Have read reviews about the carpet being outdated and they are completely wrong. The carpet had a pattern that may appear that way but...

The room was very large, very clean, beautiful and comfortable. I had called to ask for a nice view and even though I would have prefered a city view, I was given a view of the train tracks. It was quite neat to see the trains arrive and leave from under the building. The pool is very nice, but it...

Brought my wife there for her birthday and she was in bliss. Swimming in 85 degrees water when your ears are getting cold in -10 weather is something to experiment once in your life. We were treated like VIPs and are thinking of making it a little yearly ritual. Try it out.

We stayed at this hotel the weekend of the fishing, hunting and camping show. Needless to say it was crowded and loud. The location of this hotel is great. Easy access to many venues. The rooms show their age....small in size and you can hear everything in the corridors. Got a good rate on Hotwire but would not pay full...

I recently stayed here during a long weekend in Montreal. The hotel was older but still very nice. My room was clean, spacious and comfortable. The staff was super friendly and helpful. The heated pool was fun but very busy, especially at night. The best part of the hotel was the location which was easy walking distance to both downtown...

Rooms could be cleaner. No hot water in the bathroom sink. Restaurant terribly understaffed BUT the doormen Dylan & Donald made up for the other issues. Their customer service was impeccable. They would be the only reason to go back to this hotel

Staying in Centre-Ville (Downtown)

Neighbourhood Profile
Centre-Ville (Downtown)
Montreal's towering skyline is concentrated in the Downtown area, its nexus of commerce and commercialism. A suffusion of luxury hotels, flagship stores, high-end restaurants, and corporate headquarters characterize the neighborhood, which by nightfall transforms from a business district into a youth-culture hotspot, with hip bars, clubs, and restaurants heavily peopled by students and young professionals. The once-seat of millionaire's 'Golden Square Mile', an incongruity of stately mansions and dapper brownstones sit between glass skyscrapers, creating a visually lush urban landscape. Beneath the sidewalks lay the Underground City, the world's largest below-ground mall, a labyrinth of over 1,500 shops and eateries that echo the profusion of cafes, gallerias, cinemas, and fashion outlets above. From the scholarly array at McGill University to the carousing crowds of Rue Crescent, visit Downtown to shop by day for what you'll wear there by night.
