Major safety concern: my daughter and I checked in on Jan. 24, 2015, about 7pm, got a room on the 22nd floor and went to the room immediately after getting the key. The otherwise made bed was open on one side, as someone just slept in it, and all the lights in the room, including bathroom were ON (the lights...

We used points to stay there and because it was only two days trip we were fine, it had what we need: right location to see old town. The hotel itself is nothing interesting though, very average and looks outdated. As described in TripTestDummy's review: "I think the Intercontinental Corporation forgot that they had a hotel in Montreal. What else...

No Problem there they had booked another hotel for us and upon our return the next day had our room and free breakfast available and complimentary wifi. I had booked a night in the Intercontinental Hotel Montreal at a special rate direct from their website for a romantic anniversary getaway with my girlfriend, only to find out when I got there that my booking had been cancelled. They said that this was due to my credit card being declined as the room had to be prepaid. In...

PROS: Good location for old town, Bell Center, and more; one of the tallest buildings for good views; less expensive than many local competitors, concierge was a massive help CONS: May seem a little overly businessy Only needed to stay in Montreal for one night before venturing off to Montebello. The location and price made the Intercontinental well worth it....

Staying in Quartier International

Neighbourhood Profile
Quartier International
Designed to connect and beautify unused space, today the Quartier International is like a transversal piece of modern art. The distinctive design flair is most apparent at its focal point, the Palais des Congres, a convention centre and retail space with a multi-coloured glass exterior and an equally bold interior motif. Outdoors too, the Quartier is friendly towards public art exhibits along its stylish, plotted city squares, with extra-wide sidewalks meant to encourage long strolls and shaded benches available for absorbing the atmosphere. Fresh air and promenades characterise the area, from the foliage of Victoria Square to the fountain of Place Jean-Paul Riopelle, while the restaurants along Rue Saint-Antonie Ouest and Metro stops modeled in the Parisian style give off European glamour.
