Recently stayed for a quick business trip. Wasn't in town long enough to really take advantage of the hotel but it certainly served it's purpose. It's centrally located, walking distance to St. Catherine Street Shopping, short cab ride (walkable but not a short walk) to Old Montreal, next door to the Bell Centre. There's a Metro stop directly linked to...

Well appointed property close to everything in Montreal. The rooms were very clean, the staff quite nice and the amenities great. The pub served good food, the salads were quite good. I certainly would recommend the hotel

I had a better stay here than last October, when I made my previous visit. The room, although dated, was nice and quiet (we were on the 19th floor facing the river) and the bed was very comfortable. I slept well and enjoyed my room service breakfast.

Classic feel of a classy hotel. Excellent customer service, and always a very nice room. Lucky to get upgrades every time I stay. Views from the room are spectacular and the connection to the underground path is very convenient.

I have not stayed at a Marriott for while but this property was disappointing. The hotel is very dated, in need of a renovation. In the room there is no bottle water available, not even for purchase. The lamp on the desk is actually glued down to the desk? For women the hair dryer looks like something you would find...

Recently stayed here with our family. Very pleased with the staff and service at this location. Ideal spot if you are seeing a game at the Bell Centre or would like to shop on St. Catherines. The room was very clean and included an amazing view of the city. I would equally recommend this hotel for business or pleasure. Look...

As a hotel employee I understand that sometimes departments get closed early. Sure it's Saturday night and your colleagues want to go out or go home. But when I call 15 minutes before IRD is scheduled to close (as per your in room menu) at least lie to me or offer cold options as opposed to " my kitchen is...

The service is ok for a big hotel but it is urgently in need of a major refurb. It feels about 50 years since being renovated - they are celebrating their 50 year anniversary so I wonder if they renovated in that time?

Hello BalanceddCitric2014 - thank you for your post - yes, indeed 2017 marks the 50th anniversary of the Montreal Marriott Chateau Champlain. Actually our hotel has seen many renovations over the years. Though not always visible, renovations are currently underway and even more planned for this year. I do hope you will reconsider us some time in the future, when...

Excellent hotel with an old world feel. The lobby is gorgeous. The club room has a great view of the city. There was a lot of construction going on so there was some noise during the day, but very quiet at night. The lobby restaurant was very tasty. Starbucks was also in the lobby as well as several small stores...

I'm fast coming to the conclusion that Marriott chain outside the middle east and Asia fall short of the expected quality. We usually use this chain but I'm going to stop unless its in our local area. They are definitely below the middle east standard. The location of this hotel is ideal for shopping and close to the highway. Very...

Staying in Centre-Ville (Downtown)

Neighbourhood Profile
Centre-Ville (Downtown)
Montreal's towering skyline is concentrated in the Downtown area, its nexus of commerce and commercialism. A suffusion of luxury hotels, flagship stores, high-end restaurants, and corporate headquarters characterize the neighborhood, which by nightfall transforms from a business district into a youth-culture hotspot, with hip bars, clubs, and restaurants heavily peopled by students and young professionals. The once-seat of millionaire's 'Golden Square Mile', an incongruity of stately mansions and dapper brownstones sit between glass skyscrapers, creating a visually lush urban landscape. Beneath the sidewalks lay the Underground City, the world's largest below-ground mall, a labyrinth of over 1,500 shops and eateries that echo the profusion of cafes, gallerias, cinemas, and fashion outlets above. From the scholarly array at McGill University to the carousing crowds of Rue Crescent, visit Downtown to shop by day for what you'll wear there by night.
