Short stay at the Marriott Chateau Champlain. Went on business and needed a nice, clean place to stay. I am loyal to Marriott so I decided to try the Marriott Chateau Champlain. The hotel did not disappoint. The bed was comfortable and the room was clean. Worked most of the time so I really did not do much else at...

The Marriott Chateau Champlain couldn't be more convenient to Centre-Ville (Downtown) Montreal---it literally sits atop a Metro station. It's a unique blend of modern architecture---huge plexiglass windows flood each room with natural light and gorgeous views, while the lobby's dark-wood and chandeliers evoke older, more genteel days. The nicely appointed lobby leads to a Starbucks, convenience store and gift shop....

Close to Bell centre and the train. Older hotel that maintains it charm. Rooms are good size with great layout. Nice large semi circle windows provide great views. Pool facility a bit small(limit 10 people) but great for kids. Had room service pizza, was prompt and delicious.

great fitness center, good views from almost all rooms, nice downstairs bar, great service staff and generally very friendly folks. Within a block of where the Canadians play and walking distance to 2 different parts of town for great dining.

Stayed here for 2 nights to see U2 at the Bell Centre and loved it. It is literally across the street and half a block from the arena. It is also walkable to most parts of the city including Old Montréal. Room and staff were great. Will definitely stay here again whenever in Montréal.

My husband, daughter and I recently stayed at the Marriott Chateau Champlain on June 26th, 2015. Every single employee we encountered had a standard of excellence in my opinion that would be be very hard to surpass. I would recommend these accommodations to family and friends and will absolutely stay there again. Every single step of the way the staff...

My husband and I stayed here for one night in June 2015. The first issue was getting to the hotel because of the various construction downtown Montreal. Parking is not free, but is conveniently located under the hotel and you can enter the parking on either side of the building. The lobby area is grand looking, however, check in could...

Hello Lithlith - very sorry to read your stay with us did not meet your expectations. With the subway station located just below the hotel accessed from our lobby, it is unfortunate it did not make your sightseeing plans a bit easier. Our apologies for the impression you had regarding platinum services from our hotel compared to others.

We escaped a local hotel to a reliable Marriott. The accommodations were clean and comfortable -- classic Marriott linens, comfortable climate. Concierge floor was small and definitely crowded, a bit more tired than the average. The restaurant was decent, the staff was very attentive and helpful. Gym facilities are average. Spa is a bit disjointed, with massage services near entrance...

I stayed here recently with my son as we visited McGill University and went to a Women's World Cup Game. The rooms were a nice size. Great view! The hotel is located nicely - a reasonable walk to the University - right on the subway - close to most everything.

This is the first time I have stayed in this hotel. I have visited Montreal several times per year in the last 4 years. I would say that my hotel experience was average. Staying in Centre-Ville (Downtown)

Neighbourhood Profile
Centre-Ville (Downtown)
Montreal's towering skyline is concentrated in the Downtown area, its nexus of commerce and commercialism. A suffusion of luxury hotels, flagship stores, high-end restaurants, and corporate headquarters characterize the neighborhood, which by nightfall transforms from a business district into a youth-culture hotspot, with hip bars, clubs, and restaurants heavily peopled by students and young professionals. The once-seat of millionaire's 'Golden Square Mile', an incongruity of stately mansions and dapper brownstones sit between glass skyscrapers, creating a visually lush urban landscape. Beneath the sidewalks lay the Underground City, the world's largest below-ground mall, a labyrinth of over 1,500 shops and eateries that echo the profusion of cafes, gallerias, cinemas, and fashion outlets above. From the scholarly array at McGill University to the carousing crowds of Rue Crescent, visit Downtown to shop by day for what you'll wear there by night.
