We went to Montreal for an overnight stay at the Chateau Champlain. The hotel was fine - exactly what it promises to provide. But the thing that made it great was the service in a "special situation." Before coming to the hotel, we parked near the Mtl Museum of Fine Arts. When we got back to our car, we found...

we were going to montreal overnight to meet friends and see a game at the bell centre. i googled hotels & found this one as we usually stay at marriott properties. before booking we called to make sure they have a gluten-free menu for me and was assured several times they do. when we arrived the charming young lady upgraded...

Stayed here in February of 2014, awesome location with only steps from Bell Centre. Couldn't ask for any better :) Steps away from shopping as well! Used the underground system to navigate our way! Also received a special rate from my boyfriend's company.

We were in Montreal for 1 night to see Team Canada play at the World Juniors tournament. This hotel is located very close to the Bell Centre which was ideal for us. It's a very short walk to the arena which was great because it was cold out and we didn't need to spend money on a cab. We showed...

Literally right across the street from the Bell Centre, which is the reason we were in town, with tons of bars and restaurants within walking distance. Room was clean just like the rest of the hotel. There's a bar/restaurant in the place which wasn't bad and a few shops and a Starbucks. Reasonable price we just used this place for...

Stayed there for a business meeting recently and for the price it is a perfectly fine choice in a good location (not as close to Old Montreal as I would like during these cold winter days, but that was not the purpose of this trip). Yes the common areas are a little tired, but overall for the price it is...

Dear Stirling D. -Thank you for your review. I am disappointed to hear about your experience in our food and beverage outlets. With aspiration to always exceed guest expectations, we have unfortunately fallen short of this goal during your stay. Your valued feedback highlighted a number of areas for improvements that I have since shared with our operation team. Once...

We spent 3 nights in this location. The underground access to the metro was a plus. We could enjoy the subzero temperature outside from our beautiful, cozy and classy room. We felt as if we were in a snowball. The view was breathtaking. The pool was ok. Exceptional service specially front the front desk Mr. Humberto. It was pricey but...

service par excellence. City view rooms that inspire . Staff they obviously love their work. Great location. But... No jacuzzi, no sauna.....yes the pool was lovely, heated and all. But where the jacuzzi appeared to have been was a recently renovated flat raised area. huh? Sauna and jacuzzi for a hotel of this importance are de rigeur. The bar was...

Hello Adog56 - I appreciate you taking the time to post your review of our hotel. Glad you enjoyed the overall offering. I had stayed here to see the NJ Devils Play in Montreal... a sports mecca for Hockey fans. The staff was friendly and I really enjoyed my stay there. The fact it was close to everything really made it a plus in my book. Everything was what I expected from a Marriott... reasonable, comfortable and hospitable.

When this was a CP Hotel, it was just great. Now it seems a bit faded. Not great, but still somewhere between good and very good. Though the towels aren't as plush as they were, the room was clean and it's nicely laid out. The view from the floor to ceiling arched window is still impressive. The staff, especially the...

Staying in Centre-Ville (Downtown)

Neighbourhood Profile
Centre-Ville (Downtown)
Montreal's towering skyline is concentrated in the Downtown area, its nexus of commerce and commercialism. A suffusion of luxury hotels, flagship stores, high-end restaurants, and corporate headquarters characterize the neighborhood, which by nightfall transforms from a business district into a youth-culture hotspot, with hip bars, clubs, and restaurants heavily peopled by students and young professionals. The once-seat of millionaire's 'Golden Square Mile', an incongruity of stately mansions and dapper brownstones sit between glass skyscrapers, creating a visually lush urban landscape. Beneath the sidewalks lay the Underground City, the world's largest below-ground mall, a labyrinth of over 1,500 shops and eateries that echo the profusion of cafes, gallerias, cinemas, and fashion outlets above. From the scholarly array at McGill University to the carousing crowds of Rue Crescent, visit Downtown to shop by day for what you'll wear there by night.
