Housekeeping was great. Place was clean. Front desk staff not so helpful. Lady who served Continental Breakfast was great at customer service. The room was small, clean and adequate. The noise outside the hotel prevented us from getting a good night's sleep for the five nights we were there. Aside from the normal and expected background noise of being in...

Booked this hotel as it was cheap and well located . Location is perfect close to Centre Desjardin (big mall with plenty shops and restaurants ...) Chinatown is not far either . In fact you are close to everything interesting within 30mns walk . My room was quite small , but as a solo traveller it was ok (no big...

Some elements of good design, but basics lacking e.g. beds on sloping floors with their heads lower than the feet, soap racks which fall off into the sink. Above all horrendous street noise in the wee hours from snow clearing. Good buffet breakfast, friendly and helpful staff.

This hotel, upon first arriving, seemed a little sketchy (it is nestled above a sex shop), with a drafty stair case leading up to the hotel.... but once you were in, there was no question that it was a hidden gem. The staff were absolutely friendly and had great advice on where to go, what to do, and how to...

Spent 3 nights at the Hotel Quartier des Spectacles - it was a sweet and sour experience (and not because it is really close to Chinatown!). The sweet - good location in terms of being central and handy for the center of Montreal; room was nice and functional with retro warehouse-decor; staff were friendly and helpful; cost was reasonable. The...

Thank you for your review. I'm glad that you appreciate our location, our staffs and our price. Unfortunately our hotel stays in a building historic, we don't have a right for elevator. We offer to helps our guests to bring luggage up when they need. We have only one sex shop for neighbors but it's security and never disturn our...

This little hotel is in a great, central location to Old Montreal and downtown. The price could not be beat and in any US city this would have cost double or triple. There are quite a few stairs to manage so if you are unable to handle stairs, this is not the hotel for you. The "sex shop" downstairs had...

The hotel is what the picture shows from Tripadvisor. Thankfully, there was no bait and switch. The room was modern and clean. However there is no elevator and the soundproofing is still poor The staff were friendly and helpful. Overall I had a pleasant stay at this hotel. This was a good compromise for a person looking for a budget...

If you choose a hotel in quartier des spectacle, well, don't be surprised that it can be noisy, specially in summer. But, hey, spend your time on the streets where the action is. The people working in the hotel are all very nice and helpful. The hotel is super clean and the rooms are big. Everything works and there are...

Came to Montreal for a conference and found this hotel to be in an excellent location in the centre of the entertainment area, and only a short walk to China Town and old Montreal. What an amazing place in the heart of Montreal! Do not be discouraged by the fact that is is located above a sex shop and looks like a boarding on the outside. This place reminds me of a little pension in downtown Paris once you are inside. The rooms are clean, modern and simple - just like the photos! Breakfast...

Staying in Quartier des Spectacles

Neighbourhood Profile
Quartier des Spectacles
The bar-none entertainment district for music and arts, Quartier des Spectacles is an interactive playground that delights the senses. It totals over 30 performance halls, with the vibrant Place des Festivals at its heart. The outdoor event space features glowing towers, glass edifices, and granite-lined bike paths, and hosts annual festivals, concerts, and comedy nights. The cinema, theatres, and exhibition centres are entwined with external art projects, exemplified at Montreal's Contemporary Art Museum and appearing along every walkway of the Promenade des Artistes in the form of sculpture and public works, from digitally-enhanced swingsets to glowing fountains. Design, performance, and alternative music come together here, a stone's throw from the lively Latin Quarter along Rue Saint-Denis, the quintessential after-party spot for dinner and a drink following a day of jazz, poetry and play.
