While staff are polite and room was ok, service was poor. The bellman did not offer any assistance upon arrival, despite the fact that the lobby was empty and he was just standing in the doorway. The front desk did not provide any info on facilities. My office had sent an email for the front desk to print - apparently... More

Great accomodating staff. I especially enjoyed the advice and hospitality of the new manager. I stayed 2 nights. The breakfast is amazing. Ask for the omlett. It is walking distance to old quebec. It was a very pleasant stay.

I booked two rooms here Nov 13th. At check-in they said they had upgraded my brother's room so he could be next door to us which was very nice. After check in they called the room to see if it was okay and then sent up bottled water, as we are Starwood Gold members. I thought those were nice touches.... More

So if you are a native French speaker, I am not, but I am very willing and did my best! The front desk staff were more than gracious, helping me update my thirty year old vocabulary (haven't spoken in French since high school), helping me select restaurants, get directions, and more. This "nothing is too much trouble" was the tone... More

This hotel is situated in a very convenient location right on McGill Street in the heart of Old Montreal. The staff and their management team were very nice and friendly, the room was nice and modern. The elevator was a bit too dark for some people but this is a modern boutique hotel. Our group of 25 people had a... More

This is my fourth stay at the Hotel St. Paul. It is a very nice, modern hotel on the edge of Old Montreal. Within easy walking distance of downtown, it is a great base from which to explore the city. The people are wonderful. Lots to do within a 10 minute walk. I recommend it to anyone.

We're here for a wedding weekend. Staff are friendly. Restaurant on main floor is a plus. Location is great. Right in the centre of Old Montreal. Close to other eateries. Will stay here again in the future

The hotel is located right at the beginning of Saint Paul Street, the main tourist street of old town Montreal, perfect place to begin a stroll. The hotel is hip and attract both a Canadian and international crowd. An added bonus is that the restaurant in the hotel is very good.

Staying in Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)

Neighbourhood Profile
Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)
The historic centre of Montreal, Vieux-Port is home to some of the city's most antiquated buildings and picturesque streets. Along the waters of the St. Lawrence River, the bank of Old Port features museums, festivals, food stalls, and outdoor athletics, a celebrated part of the city that explodes into fireworks displays on warm summer nights. At its centre, street performers and artists compete with sprawling restaurant terraces for space along Jacques-Cartier Square, while the cobbled streets of Rue St. Paul and Rue Notre-Dame offer a reprieve of quiet galleries and atmospheric wine bars. Horse-drawn carriages are not an uncommon part of traffic, and the narrows they traverse are lined with boutiques, crêperies, and poutine shops enshrined in buildings of stone and wooden lattices. Here you can evoke Montreal's past with a traditional cooking lesson or historical tour, then enjoy its artistic present with live music and theatre.
