My husband and I stayed here for a recent weekend birthday celebration. We chose it because Bota Bota spa was nearby, a place we planned to go. We were disappointed however, by the room itself. We had a suite, which was pricey, but did not include what is usually included in a room that has a living, eating, and sleeping...

Nice Hotel but SPG Platinum has ZERO Value. No consideration for upgrade, no free breakfast, basically treated as any other hotel. Which is ok but not when you're pampered at the Sheraton, Westin, Meridien, Luxury Collection, etc!

We stayed over new years and were very disappointed in the state of the hotel. There were stains everywhere on the carpet, the hallways were extremely dark (to hide the stains?) and in general the furnishings were old and rundown. The location was great, but the rest was a big disappointment.

Hotel itself is great in many ways and I enjoyed the stay. Too dark for me overall maybe. One thing I'm very unhappy about was the room service. I ordered $35 dinner. It ened up over $98 in the bill. It was too much to take. I don't know if it's normal in Canada but I used to get room...

This has now become my "go to" hotel in Montreal. I've now stayed there about 5 or 6 times in the last few months. The pricing is incredibly reasonable, and I've been lucky enough to be upgraded into one of their suites on the vast majority of their visits. Their suites are amazing and much better than those in other...

Loved my four night stay at the St Paul. It was a great hotel, large room, and friendly staff. Close to the metro and very easy to get around. Lovely view from the room and great place to spend a winter visit in Montreal.

This boutique hotel is in a beautiful old building at a terrific location for Old Montreal. While the hotel has a cool, W like vibe the rooms are in bad need of renovation and new furniture. One of the tables in the room almost fell over when I put my briefcase on it because it was so unstable.

Attentive friendly staff, beautiful deluxe room, delicious food for breakfast. We were able to walk everywhere we wanted to go. The only thing I didn't like was the elevator and hallway. Very dark and felt a bit like a dungeon but it was all forgotten when we stepped into our fabulous room!!

Staying in Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)

Neighbourhood Profile
Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)
The historic centre of Montreal, Vieux-Port is home to some of the city's most antiquated buildings and picturesque streets. Along the waters of the St. Lawrence River, the bank of Old Port features museums, festivals, food stalls, and outdoor athletics, a celebrated part of the city that explodes into fireworks displays on warm summer nights. At its centre, street performers and artists compete with sprawling restaurant terraces for space along Jacques-Cartier Square, while the cobbled streets of Rue St. Paul and Rue Notre-Dame offer a reprieve of quiet galleries and atmospheric wine bars. Horse-drawn carriages are not an uncommon part of traffic, and the narrows they traverse are lined with boutiques, crêperies, and poutine shops enshrined in buildings of stone and wooden lattices. Here you can evoke Montreal's past with a traditional cooking lesson or historical tour, then enjoy its artistic present with live music and theatre.
