This hotel is a great choice if you're looking for comfortable accommodation in walking distance to Montreal's best sights. It is easy to locate and in close proximity to many restaurants, souvenir shops, old port and Chinatown. The hotel check in process was quick and smooth. We arrived a couple hours early and still were able to check in upon...

I just returned from a 4 night stay at this hotel. It was a wonderful stay. The room we had on the 4th floor had a great view of the St Lawrence River, Old Montreal, and the Biosphere. The staff were very helpful but not overbearing and all the staff spoke english very well. The breakfast was mediocre (dry eggs,...

We enjoyed a weekend getaway and extended due to the inclement weather. Centrally located and clean, comfortable rooms. Julie, Front Desk Supervisor, is calm, gracious, and very helpful. Her care is genuine. Thank you for a fabulous weekend!

The location is perfect if your looking to walk around old Montreal. The staff was friendly enough and helpful. I was a little skeptical of the forced valet service, but my car stayed safe and all my valet experiences went smoothly. The pool was a little small, but clean and pleasant enough. And the hot tub was plenty warm. The...

1. The hotel is clean and the staff was friendly, however, the "free" breakfast is a basic Continental Breakfast consisting of juice, coffee, oatmeal, eggs, fruit, sausage, toast/bagels. 2. The hotel is located down an alleyway that is initially difficult to find would not stay here as solo female traveler due to location. 3. To get to the hotel it...

Well, I am about a year late with this review, but I guess, better late than never! We stayed here traveling up from Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont for our Fall Trip. The location was just perfect, we did not use our car for a couple of days, were able to walk everywhere in Old Town Montreal up to Notre...

We had a comfortable, standard room with all the usual amenities. Our room was on the back side and was quiet. I had some unexpected problems at home, and the staff were very good at sending and receiving faxes, etc. My only quibble was that the choice at the breakfast went down considerably over the weekend--maybe because they were more...

Large, clean room. Comfy bed. Tasty buffet-style breakfast included - really good croissants.Valet parking for an extra fee, but well worth it - the attendants didn't smell- yeah, it matters. (Check-out is noon and you can park without extra cost until 4 pm- plenty of time to walk around the old port area)

Excellent mid priced hotel that is a great launching point for all Montreal. Breakfast and internet are included. Short Walk to the Metro and Chinatown. Rue St. Paul dining, shopping and nightlife are around the corner. You'll hear the garbage trucks between 5:30am and 6:30am though. The room had 2 double beds, a sleeper sofa, mini-fridge and a microwave.

Staying in Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)

Neighbourhood Profile
Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)
The historic centre of Montreal, Vieux-Port is home to some of the city's most antiquated buildings and picturesque streets. Along the waters of the St. Lawrence River, the bank of Old Port features museums, festivals, food stalls, and outdoor athletics, a celebrated part of the city that explodes into fireworks displays on warm summer nights. At its centre, street performers and artists compete with sprawling restaurant terraces for space along Jacques-Cartier Square, while the cobbled streets of Rue St. Paul and Rue Notre-Dame offer a reprieve of quiet galleries and atmospheric wine bars. Horse-drawn carriages are not an uncommon part of traffic, and the narrows they traverse are lined with boutiques, crêperies, and poutine shops enshrined in buildings of stone and wooden lattices. Here you can evoke Montreal's past with a traditional cooking lesson or historical tour, then enjoy its artistic present with live music and theatre.
