I stay frequently at the Sofitel. Excellent quality of service, rooms are comfortable and even provide with a yoga mat. The restaurant is of very high level: from breakfast to dinner you can enjoy excellent food in a fancy atmosphere. (service a bit slow in the mornings though)

Sofitel is one of my favorite hotel chains. Montreal however I’d due for a good renovation It’s also annoying the way they bill during trip ? Still a good hotel and location is great Just not five star

Every person, the woman at the check in, the concierge, the waiter at the restaurant, the valet, was friendly, thoughtful and helpful. The room was beautiful and very comfortable. The food at the restaurant was the best we’ve ever had.

The hotel is very clean and modern. It is located close to the Bell Centre and shopping. The staff was very accommodating to my specific needs ! They were also knowledgeable about Montreal and sites to see and places to eat.

From the moment we arrived by car, the staff took exceptional care of us. Our Breakfast Drive package was a terrific deal. The room was well laid out, bedding some of the hotel best we've experienced, bathroom bright and spacious, and early morning Continental breakfast

lobby yes, bar is part of resto and partially outside in warmer weather. There is a seating area to one side of the lobby which might have had a fireplace, but I was last there in August. If you are looking for "fireplace" and more more cozy type hotel, can I also suggest in Montreal in the Vieux Port (Old Port) area the Place D'armes hotel. If you need lobby bar - I like the Omni also across from Sofitel.
