Amazing boutique hotel in old Montreal. Right beside Notre Dame Basilica and the port. We selected a King room with a view, as we thought Atrium room would be noisy. The hotel was incredibly quiet, so I do not think this would be an issue. The room was comfortable, quiet, very clean and the bathroom was very spacious. Excellent service...

We had a fantastic time at Hotel Nelligan. Maude at the concierge desk helped us book two amazing dinners at great restaurants. Everyone at the hotel is friendly and service is great. The hotel itself is beautiful and really clean. We would stay here again anytime!

We often take clients to Montreal for sporting events and concerts. We have stayed at Hotel Nelligan many times as it adds a WOW factor to the trip. Beautiful, unique rooms (I recommend upgrading to a junior suite) in a boutique hotel centred perfectly in old Montreal. The service is excellent as the staff work hard at meeting all of...

Stayed there for one night this past weekend and had an amazing stay. Carl greeted me promptly as I walked in and showed me around a few of the room options they had. Then Fanny took great care of me at checkin in the most friendly and professional manner. They both went above and beyond to ensure that I had...

Hotel Nelligan is beautiful and in the perfect location for exploring Old Montreal and the Vieux Port. The petite suites are stunning. I would recommend you pick a petite suite instead of the smaller non-suite rooms, it is worth it. The bathrooms have large jetted tubs, there are electric fireplaces in the rooms, and the rooms have large French windows...

As Montreal is a place we visit often from Toronto, we often try different hotels, and Hotel Nelligan has been on our list for a while. This family day weekend, my husband and I decided to book it and see if it lived up to what we imagined it would be like. And it did. The location is incredible and...

I checked out all the online websites under the sun, looking for the best deal - and in the end, I just called the Nelligan and booked directly with them at a decent rate. Staying in Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)

Neighbourhood Profile
Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)
The historic centre of Montreal, Vieux-Port is home to some of the city's most antiquated buildings and picturesque streets. Along the waters of the St. Lawrence River, the bank of Old Port features museums, festivals, food stalls, and outdoor athletics, a celebrated part of the city that explodes into fireworks displays on warm summer nights. At its centre, street performers and artists compete with sprawling restaurant terraces for space along Jacques-Cartier Square, while the cobbled streets of Rue St. Paul and Rue Notre-Dame offer a reprieve of quiet galleries and atmospheric wine bars. Horse-drawn carriages are not an uncommon part of traffic, and the narrows they traverse are lined with boutiques, crêperies, and poutine shops enshrined in buildings of stone and wooden lattices. Here you can evoke Montreal's past with a traditional cooking lesson or historical tour, then enjoy its artistic present with live music and theatre.
