I stayed there for two days and I really enjoyed my time. I'm surprised with the hospitality and friendly staff. Awesome service.... Clean and organized, also a great food quality. In my next visit to Montreal certainly I will be in Auberge Le Pomerol.

The hotel is well placed, within medium walking distance from the Montreal port (~20 minutes) and other attractions of old Montreal. The immediate area around the hotel is not the nicest but if you walk a couple of streets you can get to Rue Saint-Denis or Rue Sainte-Catherine, both full of restaurants and bars. The price was reasonable. The Room...

My husband and I came to Montreal for the weekend prior to my beginning a new job and also for a VERY MUCH needed mini vacation for us. The room was lovely with lots of cute touches like the breakfast basket. Was such a great way to start the day. Across the street is a Metro station, two blocks down...

We stayed in a superior-size room, very happy with the space and jacuzzi bath tub. Had to bring the thermostat a few degrees above normal to warm the room up, e.g. 23° owing I suspect to thin windows that also let in significant street noise but wasn't a bother to us. Very nice people; welcoming; clean; cute breakfast basket outside...

My wife and I planned a last minute getaway to Montreal after some previous plans fell through. Not having time to scope out logistics or perform our usual extensive research, we relied on our fellow TripAdvisor colleagues for advice. We decided that Auberge Le Pomerol, at least on paper, met our primary requirements. It was billed a clean, reasonably priced,...

I discovered Auberge Le Pomerol from a Montreal tourism promotion: the 2nd night was 50%. This cost savings pushed the inn into the very good category for the price of two nights. Pros: Excellent customer service. The front desk staff (24/7) was polite and professional. Offered me a free room upgrade when I added a third party to my reservation....

I have been going to Pomerol for probably 8 years now. It is my go-to place when looking to stay in Montreal. This place has charm, smaller room but who cares... I don't spend that much time in my room anyways. Staff is friendly and the location is perfect: subway across the street, St-Denis is one block away and the...

The location is one of the best one can have, right in downtown Montréal, St-Denis-Street is just a jump away. The concierge was very friendly and helpful but not too pushy. The rooms are comparatively small, but you will find all what you need. Our room had also a big jacuzzi working perfectly and the little breakfast baskets were a...

Very nice place. Nice concierge. Rooms are small but very cozy and smart. The weather was very cold (-10C) so the rapid response of the heaters was great. The rooms are different so check carefully the descriptions and call them if you want something in particular. Breakfast was cool! Yoghurt, clementines, muffins, croissants with butter and jam, cheese, milk for...

Staying in The Village (Gay Village)

Neighbourhood Profile
The Village (Gay Village)
The rainbow pillars of Beaudry Métro Station shepherd the way into to The Village, one of the largest hubs for gay and lesbian culture in North America. With an open layout and a congenial aura, the refurbished buildings along Rue Sainte-Catherine pay a special homage to menswear and to caffeine, with showrooms and cafes. By morning, the antiquing gems along Amherst Street are packed with collectors. An incredible party spot, The Village comes alive at night, when clubs, bars, and dance halls open their doors and the revelry is high, epitomised by the fanciful trimmings of the apropos Oscar Wilde building. From May to September, the area closes to automotive traffic, allowing restaurant terraces to pour onto the streets, creating a dynamic sense of community. Les Boules Roses, thousands of pink baubles, are hung to welcome in the festivals and celebrations, including Montréal en Arts, Divers-Cité, and the Pride Parade.
