We really enjoyed our stay at the Hotel Kutuma and would certainly come back again. The staff was very friendly, helpful and accommodating. Our room was very clean and despite being on a busy street, the room was very quiet. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was immaculate!

Nice hotel and good service, but the place could use an upgrade. Sink and shower taps were lose or leaky, and we even had a pot light pop out of the ceiling at one point. But overall charming and a great location.

Very nice hotel!! The bed was comfortable and the bathroom is huge! The coffee was great. My husband lost his ID and they found it. We got a call within an hour since we left the hotel. The ID was mailed at no charge to us. Thank you Kutuma.

We really enjoyed our stay here! Friendly staff, clean and comfortable room with a fun African theme to it. We really enjoyed the meal at the in-house restaurant Le Nile Blu and we received a complimentary breakfast on the Saturday morning which was very good as well. No complaints at all. I would recommend anyone stay here if you want...

The room and service was lovely. From the African themed decor, to the modern appliances, it was simply breath taking. The complimentary breakfast on Saturday was delicious and a perfect meal to start our weekend. Not to mention, it is steps away from the best East African food in Montreal, we couldn't have found a better place to stay.

Friendly and helpful staff, great location for metro or 30 minute walk downtown, great room, great stay. Room has fridge, hob, and microwave. Plenty restaurants close by. The only problem I had was ............... how to use the coffee machine 🙈

My S/O and I stayed at Hotel Kutuma for a mini break in Montreal. What a charming quirky spot! I had been worried that the safari decor would be over the top and tacky - used to hide an aging interior and facilities. But NO! The functional amenities were not dated at all, they were lovely and up to standard...

We have been traveling to Montreal for years and have stayed in many places. Kutuma was one of the absolute best!. Excellent location, beautiful room with kitchenette, friendly staff, lovely tiny balcony and fantastic Ethiopian restaurant on the first floor. This will be our go to hotel from now on. Absolutely satisfied on all dimensions

Staying in Le Plateau Mont-Royal

Neighbourhood Profile
Le Plateau Mont-Royal
Go native in Plateau Mont-Royal, where bespoke shopping, hip eateries, and wacky paint jobs attract locals and transplants alike, making it one of the city's most diverse and distinctly authentic experiences. A creative hub, Montreal's artistic elite pack the cafes along Rue Saint-Denis, where young painters and fashion designers draw inspiration from the playful murals and stately Victorian homes that dot the Plateau's side streets. Not a major sightseeing destination, a visit to Plateau Mont-Royal allows you to enjoy a local perspective, soaking in indie films, latte art, contemporary galleries, and the city's best bagels. A center of polyglot culture, Québécois accents mingle with shades of Portuguese, Greek, and Hebrew in the area's iconic Mile End district, where restaurants straddle chic designer boutiques, serving up chorizo and caldo verde. Friendliest to those on foot, it's a jungle of colourful awnings and sidewalk umbrellas, pedestrian walks and luxury shopping.
