Gteat room, sort of away from the others. Very quite. One double bed suitable for 2 persons. New renovated bath, wifi was fine. Bit pricy for a budget hotel, although ots a lot nicer than the ones that are on St Hubert.

The hotel is in a central location close to everything. Staff are wonderful couldn't have been more helpful. I had a decent size room with bathroom, TV, fridge and wifi, nicely furnished. I don't think all the rooms have their own bathroom but I was willing to pay a bit extra for this. I asked for a room on an...

Visitel is very conveniently located near the bus station and subway, and within walking distance of downtown Montreal. The room was clean and modern and had a fridge, table, TV and free wifi. Staff were helpful and friendly. Only criticism - despite making a reservation that stated breakfast was included there was in fact no breakfast available as the hotel...

The location is not that good, the neighborhood is a bit "heavy". But it's close to the town center and price is really good. The staff was really friendly, giving tips on where to go and what to do. It's close to the subway.

A great location from which to explore Montreal. Easy walking distance of the old port and commercial districts. Right on the edge of The Gay District so makes for some colourful characters. We were rather surprised by the number of beggars and folks drinking in the street from the early morning throughout the whole day. The hotel is perhaps a...

Located in Downtown this is a small hotel with few rooms. The rooms though are big old fashioned and spacious. The staff are very friendly. The nearest Metro station id just 2 minutes walk. The main bus stand too is just 5 minutes walk. Downtown where the Notredam Basilica is situated is about 20 minutes walk.

This is a comfortable, friendly hotel. Standard room was a good size with private bathroom. Location is excellent -- walking distance to the Plateau, the Quartier des Spectacles, the Place des Arts, and downtown. Also just around the corner from the terminus of the airport bus, and the central Metro station. Highly recommend.

Standard room, not large, but not cramped either. Place was very clean, including private bathroom. Quiet, secure environment. Friendly staff, free wifi, fast and reliable even on the fourth floor. I had a very pleasant stay with no hassles whatsoever.

The location no doubt well suited. However when we booked our room, we were promised a room with a bathroom and the need to get a cot. We got a room that was barely a double bed, no bathroom and no cot. We went to the reception to be told that the place was filled, the clerk was very sympathetic...

Have tv and fridge ready for use. Also the room is clean. The shower in the washroom might be hard to control the temperature, but it is still usable once you know how to use it. The lady at the counter is really nice and will alway help us. Though her English is a bit unclear sometimes, but the service...

Staying in The Village (Gay Village)

Neighbourhood Profile
The Village (Gay Village)
The rainbow pillars of Beaudry Métro Station shepherd the way into to The Village, one of the largest hubs for gay and lesbian culture in North America. With an open layout and a congenial aura, the refurbished buildings along Rue Sainte-Catherine pay a special homage to menswear and to caffeine, with showrooms and cafes. By morning, the antiquing gems along Amherst Street are packed with collectors. An incredible party spot, The Village comes alive at night, when clubs, bars, and dance halls open their doors and the revelry is high, epitomised by the fanciful trimmings of the apropos Oscar Wilde building. From May to September, the area closes to automotive traffic, allowing restaurant terraces to pour onto the streets, creating a dynamic sense of community. Les Boules Roses, thousands of pink baubles, are hung to welcome in the festivals and celebrations, including Montréal en Arts, Divers-Cité, and the Pride Parade.
