Denis owns and operates this small apartment house which he runs as a comfortable Bed and Breakfast. Firstly, the location is excellent - close to the Berri-UQAM and Beaudry metro stations and right on the doorstep of the Village on Rue Sainte-Catherine. Located on a quiet side street there is minimal traffic noise at night and early in the morning....

First of all, the owner were very quick to respond to our inquiries, we had told them that we were arriving hella late that night as we we driving all the way from Chicago to Montreal and that was around 13 + hours of drive. Then again, we counted out some things that we had no control of, we didn't...

Wow, what a great experience. Breakfast is home made every morning, rooms are very clean, and the price of stay is very reasonable. We have stayed here both times we visited Montreal and we definitely will be back. If you are staying in the village this is the place to stay.

My husband and I had a very nice 3 night stay. Just steps from St Catherine Street with plenty of restaurants and clubs. 2 subway stations are within a couple blocks. Very clean, nicely decorated rooms and surprisingly quiet. All 4 rooms are on the second floor with one bathroom to share (this is the only reason I gave 4...

My first experience in a B&B. I have to admit that I really loved it. All the rooms are located on the second floor with a shared bathroom. I had room #3 and it was perfect, very well decorated and a smell a freshness in the room. The room is also very secure with solid doors and a thumb lock....

This place is geared toward gays. Located right in the village, it has a few parking facilities at a fair price and once you are there, chances are you will not need the car to move around because everything is really close by. Subway, just a few minutes'walk away, stores bars, It also offers a hot breakfast every morning. Also...

Denis and Stephen were friendly and charming hosts. This small B&B (four rooms and one bath shared) was warm and cosy - best of all is the perfect location for walking to shops, restaurants and bars - all just around the corner. Off street parking ($15/day) was a godsend as there was 15" of snow the day before we arrived....

Denis and Stephen were both very friendly and helpful. Denis waited for me to arrive from the airport -- I was delayed because customs agents needed to go through every molecule of my luggage (does the Canadian government know that this probably prevents potential tourism more than anything else?). The B&B was spotless, and everything worked. The mattress in the...

I am so glad i stumbled on this B&B on tripadvisor. Spent five nights with my boyfriend in early July 2014, and it was magnificent. Comfortable rooms, a full gourmet breakfast, and the perfect host, Denis. Denis has an amazing sense of style and attention to detail...everything ios comfortable and unpretentious with just the right amount of flare to make...

Staying in The Village (Gay Village)

Neighbourhood Profile
The Village (Gay Village)
The rainbow pillars of Beaudry Métro Station shepherd the way into to The Village, one of the largest hubs for gay and lesbian culture in North America. With an open layout and a congenial aura, the refurbished buildings along Rue Sainte-Catherine pay a special homage to menswear and to caffeine, with showrooms and cafes. By morning, the antiquing gems along Amherst Street are packed with collectors. An incredible party spot, The Village comes alive at night, when clubs, bars, and dance halls open their doors and the revelry is high, epitomised by the fanciful trimmings of the apropos Oscar Wilde building. From May to September, the area closes to automotive traffic, allowing restaurant terraces to pour onto the streets, creating a dynamic sense of community. Les Boules Roses, thousands of pink baubles, are hung to welcome in the festivals and celebrations, including Montréal en Arts, Divers-Cité, and the Pride Parade.
