Whenever my boyfriend does something to make me very happy, we joke that he is racking up boyfriend points. That way when he does something to displease his very particular girlfriend, she will have to negate that something using boyfriend points. Well, boyfriend points galore, him choosing this fantastic place for a three night getaway. There was nothing wrong, and...

My husband and I spent 8 days at La Loggia and loved every minute of our stay. The beautifully decorated home is on 3 levels in the Village area of Montreal. We booked at the last minute and spent our first night in a large, comfortable room with a king-sized bed and a shared bathroom on the lower floor. The...

What can I say? There is nothing I can really add beyond what's already been written in all the other five star ratings Robb and Joel earn. In early May, 2016 these guys continue to knock it out of the park. We went with another couple and all agree that this is the best B&B we've ever stayed in. It's...

Looking on line for a place to stay when you're traveling can be an exhausting experience. My two friends and I sat in the living room going from site to site when La Loggia caught our attention. We knew we did not want a conventional hotel but there were so many options in Montreal we wanted to make sure we...

Wonderful hosts. The place is designed to give you space. Very safe, clean and comfortable. Has a great patio for common use. Great restaurant suggestions. Centrally located and the hosts highlight the must-dos when you arrive. Close to Old Town and minutes away from the metro stops.I will come back!

We spent an exciting 5 days in Montreal (our first time there). The proprietors and staff of La Loggia Art & Breakfast were way beyond helpful. The room (The Studio) was comfortable and unbelievably interesting. Art everywhere! Guy's breakfasts were incomparably delicious (omelettes were especially great!) The proprietors were exceptionally helpful with navigating the environs. We bicycled for two days...

Fabulous time at LaLoggia for a special Birthday celebration. Location location location. Accommodations were great especially the studio! Our innkeepers or hosts, Rob and Joel, were perfect hosts, more like friends by the end of the weekend! Highly recommend.

Our second visit to La Loggia--Rob and Joel made us feel like family returning home! As always, they were so caring and thoughtful. Wonderful breakfast and comfortable bed for great nights' sleep. Great shopping (dressmakers) and restaurants nearby. Our favorite place to stay in Montreal.

Staying in The Village (Gay Village)

Neighbourhood Profile
The Village (Gay Village)
The rainbow pillars of Beaudry Métro Station shepherd the way into to The Village, one of the largest hubs for gay and lesbian culture in North America. With an open layout and a congenial aura, the refurbished buildings along Rue Sainte-Catherine pay a special homage to menswear and to caffeine, with showrooms and cafes. By morning, the antiquing gems along Amherst Street are packed with collectors. An incredible party spot, The Village comes alive at night, when clubs, bars, and dance halls open their doors and the revelry is high, epitomised by the fanciful trimmings of the apropos Oscar Wilde building. From May to September, the area closes to automotive traffic, allowing restaurant terraces to pour onto the streets, creating a dynamic sense of community. Les Boules Roses, thousands of pink baubles, are hung to welcome in the festivals and celebrations, including Montréal en Arts, Divers-Cité, and the Pride Parade.
