We stayed a night at the campground on our trek across Canada - there are not many options in MJ and would pass by next time. We didn’t find the front desk staff friendly, the park itself is older and needs some TLC. The sites are all gravel with paved roads, not much room between you & your neighbor but has mature trees. It appears the park is utilized for longer term site rentals for workers in the area.
Lovely little spot, off the highway. Close to everything in town. In front of mac the moose. The rooms are very comfortable. Spacious for 2 people. Bed was very nice as well. Only down point is finding a mouse trap on the side of the fridge :/.
Spoke to the counter woman about vehicles cutting through campsites with vehicles to get 3 to 4 rows over. Pretty crappy campsite etiquette cutting through various sites for the shortest route. She figured it was OK.
I recently stayed here because I won tickets to the opening of the Scott tournament of hearts. Most of the motels were booked and this place was left. However they changed the price as it was the long weekend, which is really terrible to take advantage of travelers. The room was basically dated and no kleenex or hair dryer. Bathroom needs updates and repairs. Beds were creaky and made lots of noise. Also toilet has a difficult time flushing. I'll basically never stay here again as taking advantage of people who are in desperate need of accommodation is wrong in my opinion.
Called today to find out information on rates/availability etc as we are having a family reunion early summer. The front desk clerk was EXTREMELY rude and had a very bad attitude. I told her to forget it if that's how they treat potential patrons. Prairie Oasis lost a lot of money as I will never reccomend them. I have had friends stay there and their rooms a very outdated and bare minimum. Nothing special. I will gladly spend more somewhere else.
