We visited with my parents and 2 dogs in tow on a weekday lunchtime. We were blown away by the massive portions (the ham hock is a sight to behold and could easily feed 2!) The rack of lamb delicious and just right. Burger was in my opinion overformed and was very dense but luckily my girlfriend likes it that... More

What an excellent find, Friendly and efficient staff, accommodation, well second to none, The whole place is kept to as very high standard and the food matches the high standards set by the effervescent Landlady and Landlord. If you ever find yourself in the area or not as the case may be, as I would go the extra to reach... More

Popped in for lunch. Place was generally busy but not overly so. The waitress Debbie was very nice and attentive. The food was tasty and typical pub fare. Decent value for money as there is plent of competition in the area. I would return.

Just back from two night stay. Super staff, welcome, food and comfort. Bed linen, duvets, pillows, towels and toiletries of high standard. Would recommend rooms at rear of hotel as quieter due to busy High Street. On arrival was disappointed to encounter overflowing bins at side of hotel. However, at breakfast, young Harry - great young man - explained the... More

My husband and I had a joint afternoon tea party to celebrate our Birthdays with family and friends . The food was excellent and the staff very attentive. The Library is a delightful room for a celebration and the staff worked closely with us to make the afternoon a sucess. I would recommend this venue for a celebration. Viv Gardner

My wife and I stayed for the night before she had a driving experience at Brands Hatch which is less than 15 minutes drive away. We arrived Sunday afternoon and the hotel dining areas were buzzing, and the atmosphere was really good. The food was brilliant, the staff extremely helpful and happy to help with anything needed. The arrival for us wasn't great as receptionist kept us waiting whilst on a phone call, then mixed up our rooms, which may of been a shame as I believe the rooms we had booked were rooms at the back, by the time the mix up was alerted we had already settled into the rooms. The Castle Hotel is a lovely little pub/restaurant with seven bedrooms upstairs and very welcoming staff. The room I stayed in was small, but perfect for one person (you'd struggle with two people given the size of the room and bathroom). The breakfast in the morning is wonderful, and all produce seems to be locally sourced which is a plus.... More

Our kids took us here for a celebratory Sunday lunch for my wife's birthday - 6 adults and a 5 year old. There is a nice, slightly quirky ambience to the place which seemed very pleasant and our 13.30 pre-booked table was ready and waiting for us. Things started going adrift when I ordered a pint to be told it... More
