This is an amazing property with great rooms, beautiful grounds and great artwork. The food and service are second to none. The unique character of the property and the attention to detail made our visit memorable.

My wife and I are staying at Mangapapa and since it was a travel day opted to dine in the bar for a casual dinner. We were expecting your normal bar dining experience and OMG how "disappointing"😳 We have dined in fine restaurants all over the world and this "bar" experience ranks right up there with the best of them!...

Stayed for two days over one of NZ's public holiday weeks. Excellent accomodation in a tranquil rural setting of the old Watties Homestead. The restaurant was excellent for both breakfast and evening meals. Excellent service. Nice Spa and pool . Would definitely stay here again.

We had a delicious "High Tea" with a glass of bubbles to set the scene, accompanied by a three tier stand containing, two layers of three different breads with scrumptious fillings. These were in pairs allowing both of us to have the same selection. On the top tier was the sweet selection, jam scone, cream and lemon topping eclair and...

....and our suite was excellent but the service haphazard. We had dinner in the restaurant. While our main course of fish was excellent, we were not offered the choice of main courses which was offered to others in the dining room. Although the wine cellar was supposed to be a feature, wine by the glass was limited. We were given...

We stayed and the Mangapapa Hotel while playing golf at Cape Kidnappers and visiting the Art Deco town of Napier. Wonderful rooms surrounded by grazing sheep and apple trees. The restaurant's five course meal was spectacular. Nearby vineyards are also and enjoyable visit. We wished we stayed longer.

We stayed at Mangapapa as guests for a wedding that was held in their grounds. Everything was sensational, the attention to detail was just perfect, their service was sublime, the food exquisite and the accommodation absolutely five star. They have a pool, spa, tennis court, bikes this was just the perfect stay. If you are planning look no further.

Just off the main highway but tucked away in the country side which made for a relaxing 2 days spent here. The grounds are lovely and provide an enjoyable environment in which to catch your breath. Lovely large suite and bathroom not seen in many hotels today. Staff very friendly and helpful. Will return.

We had a lovely room and enjoyed the terrific breakfasts in the sun room. The staff was friendly and helpful. It is a great location - close to Hastings and North Havelock - and it has lovely grounds. The weather didn't cooperate so we never sat by the pool. Only downside: Pricey.
