This is the best bed and breakfast we have ever stayed in. The building is beautiful, full of history, very impressive and set in lovely grounds. The rooms inside are gorgeous - huge open fireplaces, candles and antique furniture. Breakfast is in the large dining room lit with a log fire and candles. The breakfasts are huge and are accompanied...

We stayed here straight after our wedding and it was just perfect. Lovely and comfortable rooms, situated in beautiful countryside, friendly and helpful owners, great breakfast. A really special place.

We booked all three rooms for the night after our daughter's wedding at Whalton Village hall. We had asked for the wedding package for the newly-weds, who were amazed at the profusion of chocolates and champagne. Arrivinmg at the castle just before midnight we let ourselves in and settled down for a couple of hours in the gorgeous sitting room...

We actually live very near to the Castle. Sometimes work demands mean that we can't go too far from home, so we escape here for a spot of pampering in a truly special environment. Warmly greeted and treated to afternoon tea, including Kristina's very special home made cake, all our cares and woes soon vanish. An evening sat in the...

It would be so easy wax lyrical about our stay, but best to say it was fabulous. The service is first rate, all at Ogle Castle are very friendly professional and attentive. Best hotel we have ever stayed at.

Beautiful building in wonderful setting. Afternoon tea in the garden was a joy. Bedroom luxurious and so relaxing. Breakfast was absolutely delicious - the best Hollandaise I have ever tasted. Kristina and her mother were so obliging. What a wonderful experience in their historic home.

Spent 3 nights here this past week and absolutely loved the house. Whilst it is called a 'castle' it is really a lovely, big and very historic house. It has some lovely bedrooms but the entire house is beautiful, inside and out. I loved the grounds, spectacular to drive down the drive - even in September. Inside the house, rooms...

We stayed here with another couple and loved it! It truly was like being a guest in someone's home, but better! When we arrived, Bo (our hostess who is Swedish) served us tea. Our room had everything we could possibly need: a hair dryer, fire place, four poster bed, etc. Plus, there was a tray with tea bags, hot chocolate,...

All the reviews on this page are correct, this is a gem. Its a dozen miles from downtown/Jesmond, 5 miles from the airport, and two centuries ahead [or behind, depending on your take on life] in terms of civilised living. Why would anyone even contemplate checking into a ghastly chain hotel when for a few minutes drive you could be...

As we drove down the long drive way past the manicured gardens we thought Wow what a place. The interior didn't disappoint either. We booked 2 rooms and on arrival we were offered tea and scones in the fabulous guest sitting room with a huge ingle nook fireplace. . All of the rooms are filled with fantastic antiques and are...

“I am afraid of dogs and avoid at all costs. Avoid room near the family quarters if you can. But feel sure all the rooms are beautifully appointed.”

“It has wifi in the dining room, the stone walls are too thick for it to work everywhere else! But try to leave those gadgets behind once in a while? Sit in the drawing room instead, and chat, or sip wine, or read books [great collection], or .....whatever...”
