My wife and I stayed in Topsham having not visited for over 40 years. We used to live there whilst at Exeter University. Topsham is still as delightful,as it was then. The Salutation Inn is a tasteful addition set in the heart of town. We stayed two nights. The suite was excellent. Comfortable beds , quiet , modern and clean.... More

Just exquisite. Genuine Exe caught salmon three ways, and a superb desert. This was our second year and it did not disappoint at all. Just round it off with the house champagne and with the superb surroundings it doesn't get much better.

We booked a table on Friday evening as we were staying near Topsham for the weekend and had seen good reviews about The Salutation inn. From the moment we arrived the service was excellent; knowledgeable, friendly but unobtrusive. We had the 4 course tasting menu and added a cheese course in. Every course was delicious. Altogether a wonderful evening and... More

We found the Salutation Inn a perfect place to enjoy a night away. Delicious food, excellent room - perfect in every way - decor, comfort, lighting, towels. And outstanding service. Our 4 course dinner was of the highest quality in terms of the ingredients, the balance of flavours, and presentation. From the amuse-bouches to the pudding, with a fine choice... More

We arranged to meet friends at the Salutation Inn last Sunday for breakfast as they were travelling home from Cornwall to Peterborough and we'd been wanting to try the place since seeing it whilst in Topsham during the summer (we live in North Devon). I am so glad we made the trip early on Sunday morning! What a delightful experience,... More

We stayed in rooms 5 & 6 - large, comfortable and even though facing the road quiet. Across the corridor was a generous coffee room which contained all you needed. Breakfast to die for, lovely staff - couldn't ask for more.

We visited Topshsm for the first time and loved it. Our stay at The Salutation Inn was absolutely wonderful. The rooms are clean, well equipped and comfortable and the lounges and other communal areas are stylish and very comfortable. The staff were all welcoming, friendly and efficient. The piece de resistance was the food which was outstanding. We had the... More

A second family visit to this well run establishment. I really cannot fault The Salutation, from the start of our evening we were made to feel as though we were special, even though our party took over the Conservatory and the adjoining dining room was pretty full, Amelia (front of house) was on hand checking all was well throughout the... We stayed at the Salutation as we wanted a nice hotel that would let us see more of Devon. We stayed there on their two night deal. What we liked about it was: * it was easy to find as it is in the middle of Topsham * they made us very welcome - we ate a very nice snack... More

Lovely bespoke hotel, made very welcome, rooms and bathrooms were well appointed. Breakfast was very good with plenty of choice. Non-meat breakfast was particularly nice. Good parking facilities and not far from the station where trains run frequently to Exeter, Sandy Park and Exmouth. Topsham itself is a nice town with many shops and an antique centre.
