My wife and I stayed one night in the Hartley Hut. We arrived about an hour before sundown, making sure to take it slow on the unsealed road to the lighthouse. On our way there, we saw several kangaroos and even an echidna crossing the road. Upon pulling up to the Hartley Hut, there were several kangaroos grazing in the...

We're so pleased we made the effort to visit Cape Borda Lighthouse. Mick's tour was the best of any of the tours we took during our trip to Kangaroo Island. Mick's tour is entertaining and very informative and he is a national treasure!

Do not recommend anyone to drive to this tourist attraction until this is a sealed road. Absolutely the most terrifying 30km drive I have every done. To use the term "road" would be a mistake - could not even classify this as a track it was just so bad. Grader was on the road on our way to the lighthouse....

My husband & I made the trek out to Cape Borda Lighthouse today & were given the grand tour of the "only real lighthouse " in SA! Mick was a great guide, obviously passionate about what he does, & we thought the tour was fantastic - especially the firing of the cannon! A must see on the island.

We stayed in the tiny Woodwood hut and loved it! No facilities, but that was outweighed by atmosphere! Being right next to THE ONLY LIGHTHOUSE in South Australia and to watch it light up and sit outside with a cool glass and great cheese overlooking the ocean between KI and South America as the sun sets is awesome! The repartee...

I visited this location but didn't stay in the accommodation. It's well worth the trip out on the unsealed road. and there are other great locations to explore on route. The lighthouse and all buildings are well maintained and the cliftop coastal views are amazing. The Ranger has a very funny sense of humour and made the tour exciting. The...

Cape Borda is a unique remote place where you can feel the vibe of the past. We went there with a normal sedan, but a 4x4 would have been a much better choice. The local staff was very friendly and the accommodation super spacious for a family of four.

This cosy little hut is wonderfully remote but worth the drive to get to it. It is quite basic but cheap at $50 a night… Mick the ranger lives in his lodgings 50m away, he is a real character and greets you on arrival… if there is a problem you can go to him. Inside there are two comfortable single...

My husband and I stayed at Hartley Hut, which was basic but had everything that we needed. The only thing that I found a little disconcerting was the fact that the toilet was located just behind the house but within a covered section. There was a door to keep out "visitors" like kangaroos but it cannot be locked. Anyhow, it...

We liked our stay at Cape Borda but be aware that it is far away from any other main attractions on the island! The nature is beautiful and we were able to see a lot of wildlife. We also did the tour during which the canon was fired and the walk to Harvey's Return and can absolutely recommend it.
