Out of all the hotels over our three week tour in the Yucatan this one was my favorite. The charming palapa had above and beyond the standard Mexican hotel accommodations although I do wish it had mosquito nets over the beds. I understand that the jungle comes with its fair share of insects (they will be in your room. Part...

A friend and I enjoyed the Pickled Onion so much on a recent trip that we extended our trip. After a 6+-hour bus day this was an incredible place to arrive to. Impeccable service, delicious food at the restaurant (I still want the recipe for the chicken wings, and the avocado soup was amazing). The rooms themselves are as clean...

We stayed here for one night for Uxmal. We appreciated our short stay at picledonion. It is clearly indicated on the main road how to get there. The staff was very friendly, like the majority of the Mexicans. There are at least 8 bungalows, with a very nice and cozy interior. There is no AC, just a propeller so it...

Beautiful property located in the small town of Santa Elena. The staff is very courteous and helpful. The rooms are just right and it was great having a refrigerator. The beds are very comfortable although in May you really need to be prepared for the heat. The pool helps to cool you down and is just the right size. The...

I wasn't sure about this hotel from the reviews but am glad we visited. We stayed for 2 days, visiting Kabah after we got there in the afternoon, then Uxmal followed by a cenote the following day. Wifi worked very well in our cabana. The swimming pool area is nice to chill in. Uxmal was around 230 pesos per person...

We came across this BnB at the last minute, deciding to stay overnight near Uxmal instead of heading back to Merida. Good decision! It was a very hot day at Uxmal. So, upon arriving at the Pickled Onion, we registered, put on our bathing suits, jumped in the pool and ordered mojitos. I thought I was in the Garden of Eden. The accommodations are exceptional. Staying in traditional Mayan huts heighten the Mexican experience.
