I wasn't sure about this hotel from the reviews but am glad we visited. We stayed for 2 days, visiting Kabah after we got there in the afternoon, then Uxmal followed by a cenote the following day. Wifi worked very well in our cabana. The swimming pool area is nice to chill in. Uxmal was around 230 pesos per person...

Thank you so much for your lovely review .... it warmed my heart to read it! I try and so the best I can but as you say in the really really busy times it hard to chat with all and run the business and shop for fresh products.... I will continue to do my best.... Happy too that you...

We came across this BnB at the last minute, deciding to stay overnight near Uxmal instead of heading back to Merida. Good decision! We spent the afternoon in and out of the pool, calling dibs on the hammock that overhangs the pool (why was it so impossible to get out of?), feeling like we had entered paradise. The grounds are...

It was a very hot day at Uxmal. So, upon arriving at the Pickled Onion, we registered, put on our bathing suits, jumped in the pool and ordered mojitos. I thought I was in the Garden of Eden. All the property is a garden of delights......plants of all kinds and a neem tree in full bloom scented the air. It...

The accommodations are exceptional. Staying in traditional Mayan huts heighten the Mexican experience. The rooms come with the option of sleeping in a hammock, as the Mayan people do, or enjoying the comfort of a bed. The gardens that adorn the property provide a tranquil environment for peaceful relaxation. Swaying in the hammock above the pool as the scents of...

Stayed one night and ate all of our meals here. And liked everything about the place. We will try to arrange a longer stay on our next trip. The owner and staff were very helpful, the food was great, the gardens are nicely landscaped and the room we had was very large and comfortable.

I've traveled a good bit in Mexico, and the Pickled Onion may just be my favorite place to stay (Mexico or otherwise). The individual cabanas, built in the style of Mayan "huts" but with modern comfort (including surprisingly reliable wifi), reveal the owner Valerie's good taste and appreciation for detail, further reflected throughout the beautiful gardens, the restaurant, the pool...

How predictable, another great review for The Pickled Onion! I can't think of anything missing or lacking in our 4 day stay at Valerie's place. Our continental breakfasts included anywhere from 12 to 15 different kinds of fruit, really good bread and banana bread, the coffee's great too. The menu items are equally good and fresh, lunch and dinner. The...
