We had a very warm welcome. Our ensuite was very nice. Spacious. Good bed. Mosquitonet. They put a fan next to the bed for cooling. Nice food. Lots of lakeflies at night. Nice beach. And we had a very nice stroll in the morning without any hassle before we had our nice breakfast. Could not pay with Visa because no...

We stopped at this lodge while driving up Lake Malawi and checked out the rooms and had a drink at the bar before moving onwards to what we thought was a better venue. The rooms are quirky and fun if a little basic. The beach is nice and quiet and there is a tree you can stand next to if...

Like mentioned in other reviews the place is very remote and a 4x4 is advised when going there. Upon arrival we were welcomed and immediately asked for lunch. This was because it took quite a while to prepare (as in 1,5 hours). Although there wasn't a big menu to choose from, the food was good. At night we were in...

Dear guest Thank you for coming to visit us at Fish Eagle Bay. We hope the minute Lake Flies were not too much of a bother. They do occur about 5 to 6 times a year when the North wind (Mpoto) blows. Although these Lake Flies are completely harmless, we understand that some guests may find them a bit of...

A very pretty lodge right on a quiet beach where you get no hassle (and that's not very common in Malawi). It's the perfect place to relax and only 2.5 hours away from Lilongwe. Food is nice but takes a while to prepare, so best to let them know in advance what time you want to eat. At night you...

I enjoyed staying here, my room was lovely and the beach is stunning! Camille and staff were ever so accommodating. Its just a walk away from Nkhotakota pottery, so perfect for going for a pottery lesson or a slice of cheese cake Simple but lovely

We will definitely remember Fish Eagle Bay Lodge as one of the best places we have ever experienced to truly relax: wonderful setting, no noise but the waves of the lake, an inspiring beach to enjoy long strolls, and a very pleasant bungalow / room and area to have a drink / dinner or simply read a good book. This...

After working 14 hours day in Nkhotakota boma for a week, we went here for relaxations a couple of days. The owner is a nice guy from Congo and we were very friendly welcomed by both him and his staff. The cabins are very romantic and you even have a view over the beach and lake from your bed. If...

I was tempted to give Fish Eagle 3 stars (see cons below), but the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff won me over. Pros: easy to find despite remote location, beautiful views of the lake directly from the cottages, tasty and reasonably priced food, friendly and helpful staff. Cons: my room only had one working outlet, which was in the...

It has been awhile since I stayed at Fish Eagle but I love this place and I have recommended to friends. The cottages are quaint , modest but have all the things you need, the restaurant is the same , simple, friendly, unassuming and this is the best part - reasonable food and drink prices ... fantastic. Nothing is too...
