This is not far off the route and set us up nicely for our next day, heading towards Feltre and beyond along the via Claudia Augusta. I suggested that they might put a fact sheet about local restaurants in the rooms. There is a pizza place up the hill (closed Sundays) and a traditional restaurant down the hill (closed Mondays). The staff were friendly and helpful - the place was not manned when we arrived but a quick phone call got us into our rooms. We left our bikes outside chained to some railings

Agritour Pont Alto is a nice place to stay if you come to work at the Computer Science department of the University of Trento or FBK and you have a car. It is relatively inexpensive, close to UNITN and FBK, but a bit far from any public transportation, hence if you are there for a few long working days it is a nice place to stay. The staff is very friendly, the place itself is relatively new

We stayed for a month-and-a-half at the agritur during a research visit to the engineering school in Povo. The arrangements for our stay (with a fairly complex schedule) were all done via email, and from the day we arrived until we left everything went perfectly; the staff are friendly and helpful (even though we spoke a different language!) and there is almost always a member of the owner's family present and involved in the day-to-day running of the establishment. Waking up in the middle of the vineyards with a view on monte Bondone bathed in sunlight is just perfect. The agritur is easily reachable with public transport: take bus nr 5 from the train station and get off once it reaches the top off the hill, by the traffic circle. The agritur is 10 minutes' walk in the direction of Oro Stube. The local town of Povo has several excellent pizzerias, a bar with a rooftop garden for sundowners, a town square with good ice cream, and tons of beautiful mountain paths. The walk down to Trento (back up the hill, then turn down [right] next to the university buildings) take approx. 30 to 40 mins on foot through the beautiful valley carved by the Fersina. To the other side lies the "Ponte Alto" (high bridge), next to which lies the fantastic La Gnoccata restaurant (try their sparkling red Lambrusco and some fried potato bread).

This place is a bit outside Trento, and not really easy to find if you don't have some navigation tool. However, once you get at it, the rooms are very nice, comfortable, and clean. If you plan to go out for dinner though you really need a car, as at "walking distance" there is strictly nothing. Internet seems to be a bit of an issue there: for some unknown reason they use a very complex username-password system, and it's not the easiest thing to manage, as the owner (which does not live there) has to come specifically to give you the unique pair. Room-surname would give the same identification result and be a million times more friendly. Once you are connected, internet is very jumpy, so if you really need it it might be a frustrating experience. Breakfast is rather basic. Service is nice, without being over-friendly. Price is good. Overall, a good experience.
