My wife bought us a stay here for my birthday, we travelled with my brother in law and sister in law and stayed for two nights in February, it was delightful. The welcome we got was friendly, the rooms were very well appointed and clean and Phil the landlord was very helpful. The food was exceptional, well cooked and very...

My daughter bought us this for Xmas so we could go on our anniversary. We arrived on Friday afternoon to a friendly welcome. The room was situated in the old skittle alley. They have been tastefully converted and there are four. They are of ample size and a large bathroom. The shower worked well and the bath was very deep....

This felt more like a restaurant with rooms than a pub. We stayed on a Saturday in February and were the only people left in the bar at 9pm. The bar person was scrubbing the floor which didn't help add to the welcoming atmosphere. Wished I was somewhere a bit more lively. Felt like the staff all wanted to get...

We arrived during the winter opening hours which was o.k. Other guests arriving outside these hours had a problem because the mobile signal is almost non existent. And they could not get a response from staff to gain entrance. Rooms were well presented and comfortable. If staying in winter be warned there is no central heating upstairs, although there are...

This was a great place to stay for a winter break, in the depths of the Dorset countryside it is the quintessential village inn. Comfy and cosy with log fire, low beams and good food. If you're a vegetarian I'd steer clear as there was a lot of meat and game on the menu, I did try guinea fowl which...

we have just returned from a lovely two night stay in this traditional country pub. We stayed in the main building, although there are rooms in what used to be the skittle alley. Our room was very nicely decorated, warm & well equiped. There was constant hot water & the japenese bath & shower were both really good. We ate in...

A most pleasant find. We had never heard of Plush even though it is in Thomas Hardy country. When we eventually found The Brace Of Pheasants -we were most warmly welcomed by 6 feet 8 inches Alec. He willingly unloaded our case from the car.(Yes I am beginning to look my age) and led us to Room 2 one of...
