Myself and my Wife stayed in September and had the most magical time, not only on arrival were we blown away by the quaintness of this Chambre d'hote, but also by how friendly and helpful the owners were. As we are English it was a great help to have fellow brits who could cater to our needs and have such... More

Our charming and helpful hosts were most welcoming and provided detailed directions to many wonderful tourist hotspots which made our holiday so enjoyable. The lovely bedroom with en-suite was very pleasant with a comfortable bed and coffee and tea making facilities and had wonderful views over the gardens. We enjoyed excellent breakfasts in the delightful dining room and lovely walks... More

My wife and I enjoyed a lovely weeks holiday at Maison de la Foret. The weather was fantastic and the surrondings so relaxing. When we arrived we met the owners. They were very pleasant and showed us up to our room. The room was nice, clean and with a view of the Gardens. I was a bit concerned about the... More

Booked this b&b instead of one in Bergerac as we thought it would be quieter, instead we found ourselves 20 feet away from the main road into Bergerac, constant noise day and night, not for the faint hearted, Pillows were wafer thin and no toiletries provided, so bring your own. Pool nice and refreshing but only 2 loungers so not... More

THE GOOD Only stayed two nights. Easy drive from Bergerac as the hotel is situated metres away from a busy main road. THE BAD Tiny, cramped, unventilated rooms - no airconditining as claimed on the website. Artex walls throughout hotel - beware fingers and tights! Ghastly decor. Dark, dated bathroom (with dark blue palm tree tiles!). No hand towels provided.... More

My family and i had a lovely time at Maison de la foret. It is situated in the most glorious rural setting, which in my opinion one of the most beautiful areas i have ever been... and just a short drive away from the airport. The weather was spectacular, so we were more than happy spending time relaxing by the... More

We arrived at Maison de la Foret at dusk after a short flight from Luton. Before we decided to go for some supper, the owners, a warm and welcoming married couple, showed us to our room and then we took a turn around the garden. The house is set in a gorgeous garden with a pool - whch we took... More

Unfortunately I have to strongly agree with the negative comments. Me and my friend stayed at Maison de la Foret. Upon arrival we met the owner who was overly welcoming showing us around, then after showing us two rooms, we chose the garden room, which had a a strong pongy smell from the dampness. The room was filthy beyond comprehension... More

We were travelling a considerable distance around France for our main vacation and the notion of staying in a house in a forest, particularly bearing in mind the lovely photograph, seemed to suit us both. Peace, quiet, romance, how delightful we thought as we confirmed our booking. We found it completely by accident and were delighted by the visuals as... More

Thought i would write a review seeing as it would be an excellent chance for others to recieve the experience through younger eyes (i am 20 yrs old) and there is no bias as i enjoy different types of holidays whether it be a clubbing holiday or a peaceful short break away. Driving up maison de la foret was a... More
