At Bali Hai you wake knowing you are in a tropical setting and not a Holiday Inn. The sounds and air and feel radiate something refreshingly different. You relax. The grounds are gorgeous. The open space is liberating. The pace has a narcotic appeal. You have transcended to a higher plane. A better, safer, softer, saner place. Most of the... More

After leaving the VFW Post restaurant due to a very shortened menu we decided to try the Bali Hai beach resort restaurant, we had eaten at Bali Hai on numerous occasions in the late 1990's and early 2000's and were always impressed with the food served there. I ordered cheese, salami and biscuits for starters and mixed sea food platter... More

We went with Bali Hai tours. What I thought would be a relaxing boat trip turned out to be a massive cruise boat with hundreds of people and a very noisy band. I couldnt wait for it to finish to be honest. Then the beach resort was not really my kind of thing either - again - too busy and... More

Bali Hai is an old resort. The beach has been damaged by the last few typhoons. My wife and I enjoy going there because of the care and consideration of the mgt. and staff. The food is always good. The pool is always clean. And, the household staff is courteous and helpful. This trip was met with numerous afternoon thunderstorms.... More

The last time I stayed here was about 17-18 years ago and the place hasn't changed. The room needs serious updating: cracks on the window/ floor, A/C looks antique needs to be replaced, bedding's and towels so worn, toilet seat loose, dirt/grime/ mold in the bathroom, barely water coming out of the shower and faucet. If not for nostalgic reason... More

A great beach area in La Union, oft visited by yachts ... and this resort has hosted the annual yacht race that crosses the ocean from Hong Kong. It faces the West Philippine Sea (as it is now known in the modern age), otherwise known as the Luzon Sea. Great dinning area next to the beach and friendly staff and... More

Rooms were ok but very dated. The bed was fine but the the floors could be cleaner. The grounds were well kept and there were stairs to access the beach area (if you could call two meters of sand a beach). There were better beaches at San Juan which has a surf area and lots of tents for cover from... More

The food is still good but the place has deteriorated significantly. Poor air-conditioning, clogged toilet, poor room maintenance are some of the more pressing concerns. Still, people (local and foreign) keep coming back for the memories of happy times in Bali Hai. Senior Americans who probably used to work in the now closed American bases gather regularly to share jokes... More
