We went for dinner at the restaurant while we stayed at La Oveja down the road. It was pretty much the only place open for dinner and we were happy for it as the food and service by the elderly couple was outstanding.. Really caring for our children as well. Must try the salmon in orange sauce, lamb chops and... More

..a great place. Full of character, charming objects it is a lovely space. Family run the food is home cooking of the delicious kind you would be happy to find anywhere. Some reviews have referred to the host's taciturn nature but i think they miss the point that the place is run at his pace & in his style which... More

Arrived early one morning to a very foggy wet morning in the village of pitres . Have stayed in pitres before and decided to give san roque a go. The attention to detail is incredible! Tastfully decorated throughout. Cosy! Room . And spotlessly clean . Very pleasant dinning room! And bar! ..breakfast included .toastada and coffee ! Had a perfect... More

For your rating you have "very good" and than "average"... About this hotel I would say it is just good, a fair stay for more than a fair price. One must not get discouraged by the certainly not outgoing host but the rooms are more than ok, basic but clean and authentic, there is some noise during the day (a... More

We stayed 2 nights in the Hotel San Roque at Pitres as part of a walking holiday. We had a lovely comfortable room. I liked the Alpajarran Soup and the Alpajarran platter was very enjoyable. I would recommend these dishes. Breakfasts were good - with a cooked element which was very nice. Best packed lunch on our route. Well placed... More

After spending several days walking the SN and staying in so many wonderful little hotels with warm and friendly people who went out of their way to make our stay so pleasurable, we unfortunately ended our trip at this place! As a building it's nice and the bedroom was clean, however that's were the good points end. The owner appears... More

Quiet hotel in the quiet village of Pitres makes a perfect place for those who look for peace. The guy working there is like a ghost and shows up now and then. The room has all you need, but can be quite noisy (I heard people plugging in their phones in the next room). Good value for money. Not for... More

Stayed here for one night last week. It was just what we wanted - a base for exploring some of the villages and a good long hike. Tastefully renovated, good location. Good local fare in the restaurant. Would certainly stay again. I agree with TheProfessor34's point that a smile or two more wouldn't be a bad thing.

Stayed here for 1 night as part of a short walking trip through La Alpujarra. Walked in from Trevelez (6 hrs) and out the next day to Capileira (4 hrs 45 mins with lots of detours for photos). Hotel is good value (I paid €40 with a simple breakfast included), clean, and my room was large, well furnished in traditional... More

For such a rural location, the hotel was exceptionally clean and tidy - even the leaves on the potted plants shone like diamonds! Not a new building and a bit dark inside - but it had a quaint, old-fashioned feel to it with lots of old, crafted artefacts spread around the place to create a rustic atmosphere. Bedrooms were reasonably... More
